The letter “P”

MEANS SO FREAKING MUCH WHEN IT’S NEXT TO YOUR NAME ON A “Comps grade sheet” ….. ( no, not a p for pregos… sorry:))

haha but a “P” was listed next to my name on the grade sheet when I called the front office to ask what I made … she sais “you passed” I think i made her repeat it three times!!! I PASSED MY COMP EXAM!!! Which is all i can ask for, we find out the actual grade Monday but i don’t actually care, ok maybe just a little :) Ohh how i love the letter P!!

THANK YOU!

image What perfect timing too, mom and dad are coming to see us tomorrow so we can all celebrate!!

Made it through the day…

Survived comps, if only I knew I passed I could relax with a bit more relief right now….. oh well, Alex says theirs nothing I can do about it now so i suppose i will rest my worries and just enjoy a night of no studying.

Thought I would share a note with you all, my 3 reader’s ;) who know Lou well enough to die laughing enjoy this…..

So I had a text waiting on me when I finished my test which said “Hey babe, I put the love seat outside on the porch so the dogs could sit outside and enjoy the weather”. Needless to say I thought “surely he’s kidding…..

Then I received a picture message.

dogs porch It was not a joke.

Anything for those spoiled babies, and you all say I spoil them!!??

haha so anyway Happy Monday!!

Mine ended better than it started which is all i can ask for… I came home to a big “comps are over surprise” waiting on me….. all my favorite candles were lit (yes daddy it smelled like a church) and the best dinner in the world was waiting on me!

Of course my sweet munchkins were waiting too and were so excited to show me their new “set up” on the porch…. so ghetto, just Milly’s style….. huh ;)

Moving, up-sizing, new things? eek!

**Announcement**

So since the blog entered my life Lou often states “I just love when You and technology find a common ground”.

I guess for him It’s kind of like having two best friends who (for the most part) don’t get a long with each other?

image

So anyway Mr, bigger, better, more power, over achiever, wants me to upgrade to my own website, as oppose to the “.blogger”. I don’t really see the point and for me it was rather confusing just getting this set up! However, he is more than THRILLED about the idea. I don’t understand how it will work but apparently I can do “so much more, anything really”.

Where will all these post go?

Will everything be out of order?

What do i need on there I don’t have here?

DSC00099

To me, live writer is more than ALL i need/can handle.

Not to mention: as of Friday, conveniently my live writer (for the FIRST time) messed up, so this is only increasing Lou’s want for me to get my own website! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It’s just that I’m completely content the way things are now :)

However, we have come to an agreement/I gave in, and if it can still use live writer on my own website and it will make me happy-ER, as he states, than I will give it a try as long as he sets it all up for me to “easily” maintain" myself like he promises….

Well he could hardly stand it and bought my new domain name yesterday! I officially own my own website!! Who would have thought?? However I will not be taking this task on (of switching) until AFTER May 25, when school and my first vacation are over with!

Just a thought…I don’t think i will ever be able to mention a new “hobby” around him with out being ready to sign up for classes (unless he beats me to it)!

SO that’s my announcement!! I will let ya know how it is coming along as we/Lou makes progress on it!

My 3 helpers while I was out sick

Until….These two were caught sleeping on the job!

So no, they were not much help bedsides being wonderful cuddle bugs while their mommy was sick in bed for 2 days… I assume it was a sinus bug? Well, those two loved every minute of it! Their daddy on the other hand was a big help as usual….. he is always so good at care taking when I’m sick….. Mom has always loved to tell the story of when we were in high school and I was in the hospital and he came running to hold my spit up bucket as I projectile vomited. :) I never saw what the big deal was, I assumed that’s what anyone would do for someone they love? I guess because mom babied us so much when we were sick that I was spoiled to the idea of being taken care of? Oh well I loved it, and still do!

YES YOU!

I guess she is prone to spoil anything… Tuck and Mill don’t mind though…

SO luckily Lou does a wonderful job of taking over the “mom” role when I’m sick… I was “babied” the whole time!! Popsicles, our designated sick singing teddy bear (that i got lou when he had swine flu), loading me up on liquid (of course) Nyquil and Dayquil along with apple juice, cleaning up all my snotty tissues that i threw all over the floor (he attempted moving the trash can each time i changed positions but i didn’t participate in that well) and a slumber party in the den on the hide-a-bed Wednesday night… oh yes, and falling asleep to back rubs! Did other kids sleep in the den as a treat when they were sick growing up, or just a thing at our house? Anyway…Yes, I milked it!

My throat hurt so bad Wednesday night when i got home that i couldn’t greet the babies with my usual squeaky -happy to see you- pup talk, so Lou was under special orders to over do his “entrance” to them when he arrived home…. You know how emotional miss priss is, she immediately thinks she’s in trouble if I don’t come home in my happy voice… I was scared they would both put themselves in time out assuming i was mad!!

NOTE: I’m a bit scared talking in all this past tense… I am currently/newly hoarse, however, still assuming the worst is behind me.

Then we have sweet Laura calling to check on me each day asking all her nurse “like” detailed questions, “What color is your snot” and “ What do your ears feel like?” Then she continued to text Lou the next day of her recommendations of medicine for me to take. I thing she was born for the job!

*HINT* HINT*

So today was a bit better and I managed to make it to study group at a cute new coffee shop, in Roswell which I think i will be returning to tomorrow… 3 more days until COMPS!! Too bad my helpers couldn’t have studied for me while I was sick!?!?

I almost forgot to mention Tucker’s visitor today, when Rachel came over she brought CHELSEA! Poor Chelsea, Tucker doesn’t have many friends for reasons I will not be discussing publicly ;) so he get’s VERY excited when he has company and smothers them a bit… Chelsea was so exhausted when she got back home she barely had the energy to greet her daddy, Andy, after not having seen him in 5 days! Sorry Andy, don’t take it personal :)

Wish me luck, last blog until comps!

FYI: Keep in mind this blog is from Friday( 2 days ago), I have had "issues" with it posting... Billy and Lou... get on it!!

What a good break looks like!

I’m almost back to the real world but want to share some pics with you before making it official…. aka I’m procrastinating before  studying for the comp exam that was THANKFULLY moved back a week!!

The worst part of a vacation to Hilton head is leaving these wonderful babies behind….. We hate it and slept pretty horrible the whole time with out them there to help us snuggle… they are the best cuddle bugs!!

Wonder where they get it from ;)     DSC06334

We made it To Hilton Head just in time for Bobbyo’s Birthday!

DSC06365

As you can see he ate most of his cake before we even blew out the candles….. I guess he WAS the Birthday boy! After cake Jane and I chatted while Alex and his dad jumped in the Hot tub!

Although the weather was nasty for the most part I was just happy to see the beach!

DSC06353

DSC06360

Hilton Head was wonderful and don’t you know it cleared up just as we headed back to Statesboro for Alex to work on the many issues my car has….. Luckily he is quite the  handy man… I mean if he wasn’t i might have to have a new car and that would just be horrible right…. I sure am glad he can fix EVERYTHING :/

DSC06384

Adam entertained Lou with an earful of chatter and good jams while he worked his hands away…… for 2 days!

It was so nice that Adam was feeling good enough to join us outside on the most beautiful day yet of 2010!!

DSC06456

Julian and I made sure Lou got enough enough breaks in to entertain us….

DSC06449

We went “hunting” for flowers…..

DSC06471

We thought about riding Julie Mud Pie… but decided to settle for feeding her and apple instead :)

 DSC06396 DSC06404

and as soon as Uncle Alex began climbing a tree guess who else ran to the closest tree in sight to do the EXACT same thing…..

  DSC06439

SO with out the right part at Mikes shop we called it quits for the day until  Alex could finish it up the next morning…. to me this meant nothing less than EL SOM and Mill House with my girlies! SNV30478SNV30468SNV30489  SNV30484  Never a dull moment with these fools wonderful girlies :)

I can’t wait for our trip all together to Charleston in May!!

The next day Lou finished up the car just in time to head back to Atlanta to celebrate  ANOTHER birthday…. but this time it was a surprise……. for AMARA turning the big 3-5!!

DSC06478 DSC06482 DSC06496 DSC06530 DSC06533

Happy Birthday Amara!!

Back to the real world tomorrow, actually getting exciting because we’re getting close to summer… can you believe Alex only has about a month in a half left of Clemson….. What a celebration THAT will be!!

……. My DREAM came true!!!!

…. We made it to Hilton Head!! Can you believe it??? I have lucked out yet another week! Monday I walked in to class to find out, Comp exams have been moved a week back…. (Thank God) so I went home packed my stuff and was Hilton Head bound after taking two horrendous midterms on Tuesday (we won’t go there)!

The entire trip down here I remained on cloud 9…. After spending every 5 minutes of “free time” studying and every other 5 minutes of free time having a huge GUILT from not studying I was WORN OUT! The entire ride here was a pure feeling of RELIEF!!!

That and catching up on lost time with my HUBBY! I don’t think we turned the radio on until we hit Dublin! Ha I have to admit how much i look forward to trips where he has to be away from  his electronics!! But we sure do miss the pups, we are a bit ridiculous… we have been talking about them since we got here and watching animal planet doesn’t help! It’s terrible walking in a door and them not being there to greet us we won’t even talk about having to sleep with out them! Why can’t I have the best of both worlds? Pups and Hilton Head! Oh well a few days of alone time won’t kill Lou and I ;) and I’m sure the pups will get over it if we bring them new treats and babies back. BTW thanks Miss Laura for baby sitting!! We love you!

So anyway WE MADE IT and Laura is actually coming up for the day today…. I promise to bring pics and more updates at the end of the week!

Meeting Thomas.

Thursday, Alex and I had the PLEASURE of meeting Thomas Lanier Smith….. along with the two cutest, smartest and happiest new parents ever! How stinkin’ cute is he!! Thomas is the sweetest, sleepiest and most “serious” baby ever! This was his classic face…

DSC06314

Mommy Mandy decided he was starring at the contrasting colors on the ceiling fan…. soooo deep in thought for a 4 week old :)

DSC06315 I learned how horrible I am at holding newborns, I love babies but they don’t always love me (although Thomas was quite the trooper while I struggled through it all) maybe they can sense I am nervous and wiggle more? I guess I’m just used to being a pup mom. Future note :This may be a problem?DSC06281

DSC06286

Good thing I have Lou, he is more of a natural with babies, although he claims toddlers are his favorite…BUT not when it came to Thomas, how could he not change his mind he’s such a  cuddly and good baby!DSC06290

Manda and D are slowly introducing Lady to Thomas….  DSC06294

“Hey Lady look at this” How mean mandy, I know Lady remembers when she was mommy’s favorite?

Only teasing :) I think lady got a good trade off with the big new back yard and I know Thomas will grow up to be Lady’s best friend!

DSC06297 DSC06302

A mommy in love doesn’t have much time for words… DSC06305  Thomas sure does fill the Smith house with Love and smile’s as well as a good bit of snores and toot’s!   Alex and I were so excited to be there for Thomas’ first “real” outing…. dinner at La Parilla, yes Mexican…. I think him and I will get along JUST FINE! Seeing Mandy and Thomas was the best outing filled with good stories, lovin’ and cuddles, juicy gossip and mama talk!DSC06309

BTW Mandy is too IN LOVE and BUSY being a mommy to a newborn to blog these days so this will suffice as a Thomas blog for her as well, when she does get time to blog you can find her blog here mama Mandy (click her to follow here blog)

So meeting Thomas was absolutely wonderful and even the horror story of his birth did not suppress my desire we have of wanting our very own RIGHT THIS SECOND!!!

BUT for now, we will:)

Spring break where are you, the real you???

So this new spring break is a fraud… it has taken and hidden my “real” spring break that I remember so very well!!

image

  • The one I looked forward to for weeks even months along with Lou and my girls friends because we always had plans for an amazing vacation!!!
  • Weeks before spending hours on end surfing Travelzoo trying to find THE BEST deal ever….
  • Spending money i never had to buy new bathing suits and sundresses to wear on our nights out!
  • Feeling so sunburned at the end of the first day that it took one drink for us to be wasted!
  • The fact that you were always concurrent with St. Pattys day so we made it to every Savannah St. Pattys day parade!

image

image

I guess I could classify the lost spring break as an “undergrad” spring break…. who is not lost at all… just not here with me.

Needless to say I am currently on SPRING BREAK…. although you may have noticed… not to happy about the way it’s going.

Alex actually walked in the den last night and said “I thought you were on spring break? What in the world are you doing"?” I was sitting with my book open, highlighter out, laptop open (to Microsoft word) and a stack of notes on my lap….sad. So i explained….

(BEWARE VENT SESSION STASRTING NOW!)

“The Tuesday I return from Spring break I have 2 midterms… one is over 14 chapters (our ENTIRE book, literally) and we have only covered 11 of those chapters with NO review!! “

And actually this week I have decided to go to my internship instead of taking off completely for spring break because  the week after next week  is going to be even worse than our returning week because we have the comp exams and I will want to take advantage of my off days to prepare for them… also that week is when Alex is off so I would rather stay home with a study buddy!

RIP Spring break, I loved the times we shared!

image

Those of you who know me are waiting for the “but” I suppose… It’s never ALL study with me right…. haha So yes, I did have a wonderful Saturday… Lou and I both had company… Lance came and Jessica and her friends Lauren and Kelly also came to visit!!

The boys tried out new wrestling moves (of course)….

DSC06265

while we opened a bottle of wine or 2, got pretty, looked for something to wear, found a Mexican place (more importantly Margaritas) and went dancing until I told a VERY RUDE GUY that my husband was a UFC fighter……. then it was time to go :)

DSC06267

DSC06273

Sunday was pretty terrible….. My foot hurt SOOOO bad and I had/have no clue why? And my entire body was sore….Note: I also spent Saturday morning “playing around” or so i thought, with the new p90x…. It works.

No worries I’m sure between my 2 half weeks off/on I will get in a good many tid bits of fun, one SHOULD include meeting THOMAS LANIER and Manda as a real mommy and today included our 9 month wedding anniversary!!

However I am sooo subconsciously hoping that I will get all of my studying done and we can scoot down to Hilton Head the week of Alex’s spring break for a mini vacay…. I know it will not happen, or shouldn’t happen because of my upcoming comps but a girl can dream can’t she!?!?!?

One Sick Puppy

Is this not the sweetest looking sick puppy you have ever seen!!

DSC06254

(beware of length of post, I tend to ramble when I’m worried!)

Of course this is AFTER taking pain medication…. and notice, the blanket I laid down for him is not what he preferred to lay on…  oh well!

So what a scare, I came home from work last night about 6:30 to find Alex (who walked in the door 5 minutes prior) sitting on the floor with tucker rolled on his back. note: alex’s first words to me when he herd me walking in was “don’t do all the squeaky talk excited stuff just come here” I guess he knew Tucker would panic to get up.

So I walked in and sat down with them, Milly was in a panic state, and Tucker was shaking/trembling (legs only). Alex said this did not start until i walked in the door, he may have just been excited to stand up and couldn’t not sure? So we ran out the house with Tucker in Lou’s arms and to the vet we go!

We walked in the door 5 minutes before they closed (Thank Goodness!) and told them about his history of having a bad back left hip but this time he was not walking on his front left. One time before this has happened after he spent a long day at Alex’s parents house running around off the leash, he woke up the next morning un able to walk, the doctor said that time that he must have over used his front leg too much (since he can’t use the back). This time appeared to be the same, but more painful and he had not spent the previous day or week running around?

So they took him back (muzzle and all…tear),  I hate when they do it but when it comes to touching his hip…. I don’t make any promises! An hour or so later ( and $300 later) the x rays show nothing (i knew it!) and we leave with pain medication…. Poor guy!

So we are NOT SURE why this happened this particular time, but Tucker sure did give me a scare….. I was “that girl” hiding my tears in the waiting room when i herd a dog cry from the back…. I knew it was my Tuck. He had my stomach in knots all night.

So back home we go and Tuck was still not walking but Milly was SOOO EXCITED, HAPPY and WORRIED to see her brother…. she’s never stayed home alone before and knew something was going on when we left. I felt bad leaving her alone and scared but she’s a tuff gal!

DSC06243 DSC06245 (She knew which leg was hurt… look how careful she is being)

She was soo happy to see us and worried me more how “all over tucker she was with kisses” I knew he did not want to be bothered and the medicine had not set in yet!

SO anyway it was a STRESSSFUL night and a horrible scare! Tucker likes to worry his mama sometimes and it doesn’t take much…. Thank God for pain killers and sedatives right Tuck!! DSC06253

He ate well after the medicine set in (we are not sure how long he was laying down unable to get to his food that day), he also pottied with the help of his daddy, and was also carried to bed (along with his mama).

THIS MORNING Tucker was a wobbling, limping, walking big boy!!

I am sooo relieved!! He also drank some more water this morning and took his medicine better than his mama does! And after a few  minutes of limping wobbles he is now walking almost fine…

We will see in a week if he is ok with out the medicine, so keep your fingers crossed!!

We LOVE YOU Tucker Jones!!

Don’t Scare us like that again!!
