Happy Halloween!

Lola had quite the first Halloween experience!

Who knew there would be so many costume changes and multiple nights to celebrate!! No worries Lola ,mommy is now “in the know” and Gigi has already bought you two more costumes for next year!

Your strawberry one was SO cute from Gigi and oh did you know it! When you put it on!! We decided to do a few “practice runs” to get you all ready for the big day!

Daddy came home from work and found  you like this…..

  At this point he was just as excited as mommy about your first Halloween and we can all “only imagine” how nauseating that must have been ;) We took you to an annual Halloween Festival near our house and you loved taking it all in! 

You “went fishing” for ducks but attempted to confiscate them so we spent most of our time sitting at the “pond” letting you hold them because we have now gotten to the “personality” stage where you shriek if we take things away from you that we like…

So naturally we do what any good parent would do… we don’t take ANYTHING away from you ;)

At least without replacing it without something else that’s super fun- like mommy and daddy taking you on a hayride!! 

The hayride landed us at a “bond fire and smore station!

If only we had worn our pumpkin outfit this night ;)      The day before Halloween I suddenly remembered “We don’t have a Halloween candy bucket for Lola!”! Lou had no idea this was a thing people do… apparently the kid always used a pillow case… would you expect anything less?

Here we come Target!!

Two hours later and we HAVE a trick or treat bucket!

It hink i promised in the previous blog to get a pbetter picture of Lola out front with the pumpkins……

This was my “better”.

Can you tell she spotted her daddy in the yard??   What better time to finally test out our wagon from Grampa and Jammy than Halloween!  

I was so nervous about her sliding from side to side but she sat up SO well in it and LOVED the ride!!

   You wouldn’t have guessed that at all though would you! 

It’s now Lola’s new favorite thing to do… …go check the mail in her wagon! 

Friday finally came and as you can imagine…..we were SO ready!!

I took off to spend the whole day with my girl and our first stop was lunch with daddy and a new big girl pair of shoes!

So our downtown lunch date turned into a Cafe 33 lunch date when daddy called to say he was taking off for the rest of the day to spend with us!

It was a good thing because Lola was WAY too excited about Halloween to take an afternoon nap anyway….

I wonder where she gets her holiday cheer???

So much for the nap, we welcomed my parents and got Lola all ready for her official FIRST HALLOWEEN!

We decided to go to a “trick or treat” festival in Woodstock  with our little pumpkin this year and leave the door bell knocking for next year!

We had an amazing time experiencing over a decade of  Halloweens together and finally spending the first one with our very own little pumpkin!

It’s the first of many holidays to come and that makes me even more excited!

the next day Lola had the whole “trick or treat” concept down! She even learned to put things inside her bucket and take them back out!

Is it really important to know what….. ok , ok tablespoons!

Yes, lolas new favorite kitchen toy! Tonight you are 9 months old and I had the hardest time rocking you to sleep and actually putting you down knowing tomorrow will come and you will be on your way to ten months old!

In a million ways I get excited   for you to get older because like nothing I have ever experienced before each month honestly gets BETTER and BETTER!

It’s just hard knowing as much as I enjoy you today I don’t get to keep you that way…. I will say “keeping” you is finally starting to grow on me! I for the first time since you were born bought my first pack of “Jumbo” diapers (over 200 count)!

I didn’t realize that I had unconsciously refused to do this since you were born because I always thought this happiness would be temporary… I have said it a million times and as silly as it may sound, I always thought I had to give you back!

I get it now lola, I get it.

I’m your mommy and your my baby forever and always.

Your daddy on the other hand just tonight asked me just before we put her to bed “do we get to keep her forever”….. he has a long ways to go still!!

Your a lot of happiness to take in lola, it took your mama who’s a therapist and works on peoples’ “self realizations” everyday 9 months to get a hold of so we’ll give your dad a break just this once ;)

At least I will start getting diapers for cheaper since their in bulk!

Owl-O-Ween and Milestones!

Last weekend Lola got SO spoiled by all the loving from Aunt Cara and Aunt JJ! I was naturally in heaven just being in their presence- the older I get the more I value these sweet, selfless friends! We all got together to celebrate Halloween a bit early and well, lets be honest… stare at Lola!

Babies love Aunt Cara (she’s the coolest!) and so do boys, yes boys! So as soon as “bozo the clown” gave her this fancy balloon she gave it to Lola and it made her day!

I remember in college as much as Ana and I loved it each other and  Ana and little Alex LOVED going to see Miss Cara! That goes for any other kids i ever baby sat, I would feel so guilty because i was “babysitting” and she would end up doing all the work because they just loved her!

JJ is no different! Lola LOVES her and Alex and I couldn’t adore her and coco more as individuals or as a couple… they are such an item and we always say they are our “favorite couple”! Corey is currently working out of town, down near Savannah and him and JJ hardly get to visit each other yet agreed to spend one of their only days together driving up to Kennesaw to spend the day with us!

By the way Happy TWO years to them!

We value time as much as anyone with this fast growing girl so it means the world to us when these girls take time out of their day to spend it with our girl!   Lola had a blast at the balloon festival and with her first balloon, who knew it only gets more fun after the balloon pops….

lol YEAH RIGHT.

I’ll take that, thank you! 

Oh and you know we scoped out the food situation before going… we actually planned our lunch around what we planned to eat from the food trucks… sad.

I promise I really did get rid of the balloon, only for the funnel cake lady to replace it with a wrapped Twizzler that Lola fell in love with because the wrapper had powdered sugar spilled on it!

Oops! Guess Lola had her first sweet tooth!

  We walked around, ate TONS of good street food and just before leaving found the main event!

Oops… apparently we had been at only a portion of the event the whole time and had no clue! I guess it’s a give away we’re from a small town huh!On to the main event!

We had such a fun time it was so nice to finally have a first FULL weekend “Off!” no ti lots of me frames, no where to be and no schedules!

Later that weekend and through out the next week we spent lots of time together in our pajamas, crawling around the house and PULLING up for the first time on the ottoman! Oh yes, we are now the family without a coffee table… after Lola had a rough morning of hitting her head three times in about 5 minutes! Problem solved and onto the next…. she also started pulling up in her crib so we had to lower it! Lou found her like this after her nap on Sunday!

I mean really, stop growing Lola!

I will say I’m loving her personality more and more everyday! We love spending the evening out with her anywhere that keeps her busy little self entertained!

She likes to be busy like her mama!

It sure makes for quite the entertainment at our dinner dates these  days!     Lola is loving finally being able to be outside now that the mosquitoes are gone!!

Lola also ate her first Puff this past weekend, banana flavored… she wasn’t too much of a fan and Alex and I were a nervous wreck!

She would only eat it if we put it in her mouth for her… explain that to me! Everything she picks up lately goes in her mouth but if it’s food we want her to eat she could care less!

Oh Lola, never a dull moment!

Even more so now that we got you a walker! It was the most “boyish” one in the store but she loves the “gear shift” that goes “vrooom”, you pull it over and over and after one day in it she’s actually walking all over the house!

You have certainly been into the milestones lately and mommy’s heart can barely take it! You sure are cute doing it all though- I think we all know what Alex and I will be doing this weekend…
