Hilton Head!

Well in the efforts of catching up I’m going to put our Hilton Head trip and Fourth Lake trip in one big basket AKA post!

We went to HH for the first time when Lox was just 8 weeks old and again when he as 3 months old. Looking back I’m thinking “who thought that was a good idea”! IMG_9129

BUT if we remember- at the time we were living in a two bedroom apartment (going stir crazy), waiting to close on our fixer upper, Lola wasn’t in school yet and with no yard and brothers napping schedule it was pretty difficult to keep sissy entertained… oh and that little thing called WORK for Lou that literally spiked right when Lox was born… yup it was still KICKIN’.

So, we took off! Lou drove us down there and worked most of the time, he got one beach day with us (really just a few hours) and then headed back to Atlanta leaving us to send the rest of our trip as a girls trip with Gigi, Aunt Kayla and Baby Jadyn!

I have to say getting some alone time with Sissy was probably the best thing about that trip for us! Lou was able to watch Lox in the condo while he was working since little man was still so sleepy then so Sissy and I got some good girl time in! IMG_9147

The afternoon that he was able to get away and join us for a bit he brought Lox down and he LOVED it, he just smiled and smiled… Thankfully, being late in the day and the nice breeze Lox was able to stay shaded and cool because Lord help us did Lox hate being hot!IMG_9195

IMG_9158IMG_9174Taytay joined us for the day too and got her Sissy fix!

IMG_9184Snow balls and swimming pools, one happy Lola!

IMG_9294IMG_9303IMG_9309IMG_9332We were a revolving door because when Taytay left more of our girl crew arrived!

Aunt Kayla and Baby Jadyn came down BUT Jadyn’s first night (literally not 20 minutes after she arrived) landed us in the ER… poor baby J!

Lola was there to keep her spirits up and thankfully Jadyn was the biggest trooper (poor Aunt Kayla)! Thankfully after a fall in the bathtub Jadyn walked away with a chipped tooth (we thought it would be much worse)!

IMG_9339She was good to go the next day!

IMG_9356Then it was time for our daddy trade off with Gigi making it an official GIRLS trip (minus Lox) we sure hated to see our Daddy Lou go BUT we were so excited to get to stay at the beach longer!

The next day we had the girls first beach day (since the day before we never made it past the pool)! Thanks to Gigi who kept Lox for us in the air conditioner!

IMG_9426IMG_9439IMG_9451IMG_9461IMG_9473The girls had the best beach day and then we headed up to get ready for dinner, Shannon Tanner show and Fireworks that night! Lola and Jadyn were so excited!

IMG_9512IMG_9534Well we tried…

IMG_9539IMG_9543

These two of them crack me up- Lola being a little mama and Lox just going with it… bless him.

IMG_9553IMG_9566IMG_9573My first Margarita in a year! t was absolutely everything I needed it to be- well, that and the view!

Another day in the Sun for Aunt Kayla’s last day with us and we got to introduce Lox to Cole Cole and Ana!

IMG_9658IMG_9663IMG_9667IMG_9675My all time favorite!

IMG_9688The sun wore both my babies out that day so we came in early and then got ready for dinner out… or so we thought lol

IMG_9708We got to one of Gigi and I’s favorites, only to find out it was a 3.5 hour wait! So we figured certainly they were just saying that… right? So we watched the sunset, looked for dolphins and played games, made crafts at the booth, had drinks, shopped at the gift shops, Lola even ate her dinner (that I packed for her) and after 2.5 hours…. we called it quits!

I think Mom and I ate cereal that night for dinner but it was one of our favorite nights!

IMG_9718IMG_9736IMG_9774IMG_9775IMG_9780I literally have everything I ever dreamed up in this girl!

IMG_9791IMG_9845Yes, that is a Sweethoney dress and a permanent marker-( I would trust no other child but Lola with that combination!

So anyway, we had the best night and even though it was our last night I was SO refreshed at least with my time spent with Lola. I swear alone time is like our love language and thanks to Gee and Lou we got just enough of it!

Both my babies were worn out by the next day and Lola had an AWFUL tantrum just as we were leaving….. I’m not sure if she was hungry or had just been too many days with too little sleep (usually ALWAYS one of those two combinations) but it was bad- like pull the car over bad. They both ended up falling asleep in the car for most of the way back home to Gigi’s (and Lox took a little morning nap while we packed on the porch- is he not THE cutest little old man!)

IMG_9857IMG_9861IMG_9868Post nap- good as new (whew!)

IMG_9875We made it to Gigi’s for a pit stop before heading to Poppy’s lake House for the Fourth (well Pre-Fourth celebrations since it was on a Tuesday this year) and to meet Daddy!

IMG_9890IMG_9970Packed up Gigi’s make up AKA (stole it) and we’re off!

IMG_0020IMG_0026We traded n salt water for Lake water and this girl was all kinds of confused on appropriate water attire lol

IMG_0033IMG_0038IMG_0047IMG_0049IMG_0050IMG_0054IMG_0055IMG_0067IMG_0089IMG_0104IMG_0117IMG_0134IMG_0143IMG_0150Brother’s first boat nap!

IMG_0155IMG_0164IMG_0182IMG_0184I love a lake storm- look at that sky!

We had made it back just in time!

IMG_0190IMG_0191IMG_0278IMG_0313IMG_0335IMG_0351This is an all time favorite… does that not capture Fourth of July perfectly! (Thanks to Laura P and Tay)!

IMG_0352IMG_0353Alex had the Fourth off but not the Monday before it since his work was still CRAY so we finally headed back home which I can’t say I minded after having Sissy so off her schedule for over a week… mama needed some downtime!

The other plus was we discovered was our apartment was right in the middle of Kennesaw;s Fourth Festivities! Just outside our porch was a parade, festival and huge fireworks display! The best part was they did their celebrations the night before the real Fourth which was even better because I had to work on the Fourth!

So I still got to enjoy with my crew!

IMG_0483So a busy week of sun and all things summer! Sissy and I were so refreshed after some time together and it was fianlly time to move out of the apartment! Hallelujah! Oh and sweet Lox was getting so proud of himself too! He had just learned how to roll over and look how high he holds that head up!

More catch ups to come!

Mama is worn out with this one and ready to cuddle up to this big girl!
