What found me…

I’m not quite sure how i got past this last week at Grady and with other “fun” events in our life in general.… but I did.

Needless to say it was rough and having a rude boss with no respect and a VERY hard exterior can create the most negative atmosphere ever and I can’t help but sometimes wonder “What am I doing here?”

Until I walk down to any floor and into any patient’s room.

“I’m instantly cured”

Friday, I was at the end of my rope with patience when I found an extra boost that was very much needed. I walked into a floor case manager’s office to find this:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.  Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.  Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.  Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.  Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.  Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.

-this version is credited to Mother Teresa

I’m in love with it and I think it just may need to be framed in my office for all to see :)

… and maybe this too!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween!!

Biloxi for Grams 81st Birthday!!

What a busy weekend, taking one day off from work was definitely not long enough but here’s what we squeezed in….

DSC01629

Cars from “Cruisin’ the Coast” were everywhere!! Our first day there we found them at D’Iberville near the apartment complex grams lived in after she lost her house!

Mom and I decided they just don’t make cars the way they used too, they were so creative with the “fins” and hoods and tail lights back then!

With all the personality built into these old cars we of course had to find one that fit Tuck and Mill perfectly, and it wasn’t easy…

Milly first….

Originally, we thought this big “bas ass” one called her name…

DSC01593

Until we saw this sassy one…. PERFECT!

DSC01580

Check out the eye lashes….. DSC01583

Milly was definitely the hardest “due” to her many emotional personalities, but TJ was easy…   DSC01596

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO TJ!

It was soooo hot this weekend, so the weather was perfect for a good Biloxi snow ball( the best with REAL shaved ice)….  During the summer, Tara and I always managed to talk someone in to taking us down to the stand to get a snowball for the day, we always got a large and would put it in freezer to finish after dinner….

I was so excited to see the old snowball stand was still there!!

BLUE BUBBLEGUM every time!!

Then it was time to go surprise Grams at the salon, she was getting all “did up” for her party and didn’t know Alex and I were in town for the weekend!!

 DSC01614

We picked up Grams and then had lunch on the water in Geauteaux near the shipyard where mom and dad used to work!

DSC01655 DSC01658 DSC01661

The shipyard was off limits to drive too but i caught a glimpse of it as we went over the bridge,  it was HUGE….DSC01676

I think it would be a dream to fix up this old house on the water near the shipyard…. all oak tree’s around it!DSC01684

The next day was PARTY TIME!!! DSC04596

Mom’s cousin Barbara surprised her from Virginia!   DSC04651

and I met my triplet cousins for the first time from Jackson… DSC04681

My cousins Jessica and Lauren!! DSC04700

Our last night out we went to the Beau Rivage and Hard Rock casino and found Rob at the poker table….  not a great day for him but hopefully his luck will turn around before his tournament!

Happy Birthday grams we had a blast but time to get back to Tuck and Mill and relieve Andy and Rachel from their duties!!

Ever Changing…..

Well blog friends where shall I start?

How about with Autumn’s Birthday last Friday night…..

Dirty shot time to start the night off….  DSC05689 DSC05695 DSC05699 DSC05712

Well we had a great time for Autumn’s birthday at Ormsby’s, a very “unique” German bar/restaurant with tons of fun stuff to do (but horrible food)!

DSC05706

Sooooo, on to my story…at about midnight that night we decided we would move out of our apartment starting THAT night and be done by the end of the weekend.

Please note, we had pondered this decision since Thursday when we found out it would be an extra 520 (something) dollars a month to stay longer and do a month by month lease …because you all know i never found a house that i was in love with…. and that love factor is pretty important to me with houses…..BUT even with out a house we told our leasing office “Umm no thank you”.

So a test for me the following week and deciding to move anyway….. daughter of an accountant i guess but i couldn’t fathom the idea of spending that!

So mom and dad offered to run to our rescue Saturday morning and help us pack and put our entire house in storage if we decided to do so….

…..and that combined with a few gracious offers from Alex’s siblings inviting us to stay with them helped make our decision!

Note most of this decision making happened while under the influence…… yes, the offers, acceptance and conclusion to move! YIKES!

DSC01498

Thanks heavens for all of our help!!

Shout out time :)

Thank you soooo much Mom and Dad, Andy and Rachel and Laura and Chris we couldn’t have done it with out ya'll and your smiles while you slaved away meant the most to us!!

DSC01478

(LOOK AT THAT HINEY)

Lou took a time out to deal with mill’s emotions…. not sure if you all remember last year when we moved here from Clemson… but Mill and her nerves threw up about 3 times before we loaded up in the U-haul! She was a good girl this time! DSC01479

Speaking of throw up…… this closet looks like it and made me feel like it! At one time it was a “walk in” closet, ha what a task, thank God for my helpers!

DSC01484

This was our progress by Saturday night…. DSC01486

Mom wins the hardest worker  of all award!! The kitchen was all hers, and most of the cleaning that goes with that… THANK YOU!DSC01487 DSC01495

Break time….. Dad guarded the last piece of furniture left in the house….. well that and the TV with his games on! DSC01496

TJ: “Hey guys… has anyone seen my bed?”

DSC01503So Sunday night we moved in to our new diggs…. Andy and Rachel’s house!!!  Not only did they help us all day, they also had our room all ready when we got there… saints!

DSC01514

WE FIT!

Oh and cuddle time is a whole new experience….going back to a full size bed after we got used to the king is quite an adjustment but a fun squeeze for the 4 of us, if only we could re-teach TJ how to lay vertical again!!

DSC01525

The boy takes up a lot of room, what are we going to do with him Milly?

DSC01528

Mill has found her new favorite spot…. the balcony off Andy and Rachel’s bedroom, in the morning it faces the sun and she gets to watch other mommies and daddies walk their furry children!DSC01521

Casey LOOOOVES her new company!

Needless to say Andy and Alex are in heaven and have had World of Warcraft tournaments every night with both their t.v’s!

DSC01517Andy’s request when we moved in was bring the TV and play station, that’s all you need!  SAD!

So thanks to Andy and Rachel we have an amazing place to stay that turns my usual hour commute to Grady to 15 MINUTES!

- A friend from class asked if she should make a joke about the day we moved with them being the start of homeless awareness week*

I have to admit, it’s pretty hilarious!!

So anyway, this weekend we have left the pups behind and we are off to Mississippi for grams 81st birthday party!! It’s also “Cruisin the Coast” this weekend in Biloxi so there’s over 4,500 old cars! To top it off we also found out Rob, from Alex’s work was sponsored in a poker tournament this weekend and will be here playing at the Beau Rivage Saturday!!

Pretty exciting stuff and should all be a blast, can’t wait!!
