Wide Awake And Late Night Ramblings!!!

So what’s new that MUST be keeping me up while Milly and the boys are fast asleep???

DSC00607 EVERYTHING!!!!

Can I first just say I was always “prideful” of the fact that I am usually very carefree with hardly and stresses or worries……

(FYI I am justifying all of this by legitimizing my worries, just a little self disclosure for ya)

1) Trying to find a new home for us (you know how I was about the vacation- which is now booked and ready- thank God- and that is only for a week, so multiply that worry by 52 weeks in a year for the three years we will most likely live there).

* Why do I worry about this so much? Well we have looked at a handful of houses with mostly all the same answer “No” and “Hell no” until today… I found a home in Roswell (yay) and in a cute neighborhood screaming my name in desperate need of TLC with it’s character and barn/cottage feel (keep in mind I almost didn’t even get out the car, yes, it needed THAT much TLC) but after seeing the porch and inside, i fell in love!

So why am I loosing sleep over it (answer- because it will be a HUGE job of being a “FIXER UPPER”)!

side view cypress house

Which, weirdly enough, I love the idea of… I just wish I would have more time next year to play with it. I have always said I wish we could buy an old house and fix it up, I mean it would basically classify as a hobby for me if I was ever able to do it, does that still count? A million thoughts about it are racing through my head and Alex hasn’t even seen it yet!

den cypress hse   I would completely call this jumping the gun, right?

Anyway, I will update the blog with house possibilities as they come since that hunt  has consumed all of my free time lately!!

2) Deciding- for sure- tomorrow if I am going to do a last minute change to my internship, from  a behavioral health residential hospital to more of a medical route, at Kennestone Hospital where I would work in the Er with adults and children for some of my time and at a health clinic through “MUST” ministries for the rest of my time (but all through one internship).

I will def update you with the answer ASAP!

AHHHH, so that is all legitimate reasons to be losing sleep right? I mean it’s important and I just don’t want to look back at the end of the year and wish I had gone somewhere else, house wise or career wise, can ya blame me?

3) (I am numbering this but CERTAINLY not losing sleep over it)

On a happier note: We have a “house guest”…… Laura’s here (and Ike)!!

We have both been super busy since she arrived and sadly have not even had a chance to get dinner together but hopefully tomorrow? She has transferred her job at Starbucks to the one in Perimeter and so far is loving it (Thank God)! Ike on the other hand had his first seizure today, poor guy, it’s quite an adjustment, I know!

It’s so fun to have someone here in the morning while I get ready and all the other times when I am usually alone because Lou is already at work or I’m waiting on him to get home from work!!

Lou did ask me today if this makes him a polygamist??

No Lou but it does make you a minority in the house!!

Bad Parenting 101

BREAKING NEWS.

DSC00254

For Five years now Alex and I have always wondered “Who did it?” when we come home to a mess, granite these have been far and few over the last 3 years but I vividly remember the days when it was a daily routine….. DSC00012

Coming home to scared babies waiting/begging their mom to open the time out door for them to run and hide from the mess they had made. A chewed couch, remotes, pillows, endless shoes, text books, dumped over trash cans, coffee tables and any other possible item that may not have been put up in it’s place when i would leave the house.

Tucker was only with us about 2 months before Milly “found” us, so most of their lives they have done everything together, including time outs. The tricky part has always been figuring out who was the bad boy/girl and since we couldn’t, we would punish both of them. Over time we eventually began believing Milly was the culprit and Tuck was just an innocent bystander so we bagan focusing more of the punishment towards her yet still fussed at Tuck. This was mostly believed because Milly was smart enough to be bad, and has a “bad ass” attitude while Tuck is a “”momma’s boy” and it just didn’t fit his character to do any wrong…..DSC00104

This all changed Monday night and we are now questioning everything from the beginning.

At 5am (technically Tuesday morning) Alex caught tucker in the act after he woke up to find Tuck in the pantry with the trash can turned over and Tucks face in a box of thrown away leftovers!!! I naturally slept through the whole thing but Alex had to put him in timeout, then get back out of bed ten minutes later to take him back out of timeout!DSC00595

I was shocked, my Tucker Jones? No. That’s something Milly would do…… right? Maybe not, maybe all this time I assumed it was Milly and it really wasn’t? Oh god, what have I created? Maybe Milly is “rude” now only because she resents me for years of punishing her when tucker did something?

I’m sorry Milly, you found a bad momma and I feel terrible!!!

Speaking of which, I actually came home to the same thing today, a turned over trashcan. That makes it the second time this week and second time this year, YEAH. I think they both resent me for beign gone so much lately, just wait until school starts my whole house will turn into a chewy toy if this is how they plan to take out their anger!!!

Oh Tuck, bless you.

Our Inner Redneck Shining Through…

I told you this would be an exciting post, right………….

DSC00398

Yes, the mud was MY idea….

We made a very last minute trip to Statesboro last Saturday for a cook out on Mike’s birthday.

DSC00568

After this past week it proved to be nothing less than therapeutic for us and we loved every minute of it!

DSC00097

The babies loved our trip too, naturally, but Tucker was not so sure about those horses around his mama!!

DSC00002

Poor Uncle Andy, just trying to eat with 18 dogs in one room (as always look who is closest. That’s my girl.) DSC00017

Until my big boy moves in even closer… SORRY! DSC00021

Lou played with all of his many toys….. DSC00039 DSC00044

Is he not the cutest lil’ thing! DSC00047…. and so is this big guy.   DSC00066Tucker watched his daddy play on all the toys and his mama play with the those big horses!!   DSC00088 DSC00089 DSC00093Milly was caught rolling in poop and I yelled at asked her to get her butt up and come here now. On her way to come over to me she got shocked by the electric fence, tried it again and got shocked again, poor baby, am i not the worlds worst mother?

Now she must think that is was her punishment…

DSC00112

Sorry Mills, I swear your mom really does love you.

Then it was time for more “therapy”, we had a lot of anger to take out and we did. This was Lou’s first shot…..DSC00116  Pretty close…..DSC00123DSC00121   Can you see the bullet hole? DSC00162 DSC00180 DSC00192

DSC00143DSC00204

This is a good way to learn how much your husband trust you…. DSC00207

The man doesn’t trust me one bit with it, what a worry wart!

DSC00212 DSC00219

God help her…. DSC00224

After taking our anger out with ammunition Rachel and I decided to go for a (what we thought would be a) nice ride.

DSC00242   With “gimp” rocket having to ride and constantly jumping out to run, Milly getting too tired half way down the trail and having to sit ON my lap the rest of the way and Tucker teaching the others how to cool off in the mud…..DSC00258 DSC00261

it ended up being bath time!! DSC00285  Milly didn’t actually get dirty (since she rode most of the way) but she still got hot and wanted to cool off!DSC00295 DSC00308

She actually stayed in the trough for about 30 minutes all by her self and it may have been longer but when she attempted to lay down and all the water came rushing out it embarrassed her and she was done!!

DSC00342

DSC00322

haha poor baby, she’s lost weight but still has a ways to go!

Then it was time to get cleaned up and enjoy therapeutic activity number 98456792 with good company at Mill house.

SNV30790

SNV30787    Lou even said Stephanie and I look like twins this time…. SNV30789

We ended the night with a ride down Hill St. (Stephanie, I have never ridden THAT fast down it) and then to Renee and Josh’s house to make yummy grilled cheese sandwiches (only after Lou said the best salesman in the world sold him not one but two loaves of bread at the gas station, and ya’ll wonder why we love for Lou to drink, he keeps us entertained)!

Sunday was down and dirty for real.DSC00069It was mostly play, but you know Mill just had to get her car “did up” first…  DSC00369 DSC00378

Ok but for real it started storming Sunday so Milly freaked out to find shelter and sat in the car hyperventilating the whole afternoon…..

I, on the other hand, was anxiously awaiting the storm to relive an amazing night Lou and I had one October night in high school…….. ( I will try and find those pictures)

DSC00399

I jumped in as soon as the rain picked up and when Lou attempted to dodge the first mud puddle i grabbed the steering wheel straight into it while yelling at the top of my lungs!!

DSC00448

Nine years ago we were, of course, rushed to get out of school and racing to meet up at Lou’s house to see just how much time we could get in with each other before my curfew creped up on us.

It had stormed that entire day so we decided to put on raincoats and boots and see just how many puddles we could find on the four wheeler.

It was amazing and just as much fun for us to do all over again 9 years later….DSC00450

Funny what a little mud and old memories can do to a heart…

DSC00410

DSC00512

I couldn’t resist these two pictures….. :)

 DSC00468DSC00525

They all took a little convincing but eventually couldn’t resist…

DSC00474 DSC00477

Alex was everyone’s chauffer through the mud…   DSC00511

I just love that picture of Amber, mud and true happiness!!

DSC00519

Oscar and Miss Laura came to visit us too but opted out of the mud party (Ike got a little muddy from Lou’s cuddles but no worries, we dipped him in the pool before he went home).

  DSC00538

Then it was bath time!!!!

DSC00547

Yes, that is Mill and Tuck’s left over bathwater….. DSC00553  Poor Julian, She officially knows now just what a crazy family she was born into…..DSC00577

Amber and Julian had enough of the dirty mud and decided to clean up the wagon, what a good helper she was!

DSC00580

DSC00064

The therapy worked and we feel much better now!
