Good Times in Newnan

.. and how could we not with this crew!

Saturday we made a trip down/over to Newnan to meet sweet baby “Evie Brooke” and play with Mandy’s fun, sweet, ever growing family for the day!

Thomas was asleep when we got there and he was so excited to find not one but TWO puppies outside awaiting his arrival!

I think he was a bit confused to not see Lady (Amanda’s dog) outside and perhaps even asked where she was (now you know Lady doesn’t play well with others and had to be put up- of course mine don’t either but i loved the fact that for once i could blame it on another dog, so I went with it!)

Anyway, Milly was SOOOO interested in Thomas and Thomas was not so much interested in Mills:

“Hi wana play?”

Ok, lets be honest in the last one she was really just after the food but honestly she loved Thomas!

Tucker however, was way too distracted to be interested in Thomas but wouldn’t you know Thomas was IN LOVE with Tucker!

      Poor Thomas, at least when Tucker got tired we got to pretend they were spending quality time together, I hear lady isn’t into quality time with anyone so glad we could fill in for her in that aspect!

Thomas is such a sweet boy an they are raising him to be quite a fun, loyal, concerned, proud, gentle and respectable young man!

It’s pretty adorable!

Look who woke up!

how cute is she and i LOVE the new nick name for her “Evie B” short for Evelyn Brooke- ahh-dorable!

Amanda enlightened me to the world of 2 babies in the house on different nap times… wow!

 

She is a true, blue, mama and mastering every aspect of it with lots of love! It was gorgeous outside so we spent most of the day enjoying the weather and taking taking turns as each one woke up! With baby monitors in hand we caught up on WAY overdue nothings in life that we used to have the luxury of doing on a daily basis, all while planning our weddings and talking about what to cook for dinner of course!

We miss you Mandy, so good to catch up and see your beautiful babies grow! Can’t wait to do it again much sooner!

Happy (Belated) St. Patrick’s Day Everyone!

We had double the reason to celebrate this year, even more than the usual double holiday with St. Patrick’s Day on Bob’s birthday…

Yup, It was his 60th and Jane through an amazing party for him here in Atlanta on the lucky day!!!

He was kind of a big, OLD deal ;)

I’m going to have to figure out where this shirt was purchased, I have officially named my co-worker and I “BA’s” for being constant bad asses essentially, duh ;)

I think we deserve t-shirts for our self proclaimed character!

Milly and tucker have literally been sneezing and even coughed a few times with this outrageous pollen lately! They have had 2 baths since Sunday trying to control it and you can see in the picture just how much Milly has enjoyed it…

Again, bless their hearts!

Back to the exciting news…. Friday night we went to “Green Solo Cup Concert” with my boyfriend Canaan Smith!        He even dresses like lou jeans and a white undershirt… ahh!

We arrived just in time- literally- to hear my favorite song “we got us”! I was so excited that we didn’t miss it… the song is so perfect and reminds me of Alex and I every time,

“We got no money, nothin on our own honey, got your daddy all worried cause times are tough”

“…. We got love baby, it don’t sound like much maybe but there ain’t no way that’s not enough….cause we got us”

Aghhh, I love it and yes, we did have my “daddy all worried, because times were tough” but I think we have proved him wrong now, and any one else who didn’t think love was enough for that matter ;)

Marriage isn’t about money, big houses, careers and status people it’s love!

Ok, End of soap box, moving on :)

So Andy called me just before they came to pick us up and apparently heard me fussing about what Alex was going to wear, I thought something was up when Andy said, “tell him to wear his forest green polo”…

I was right!

Any other grown adult man would probably change when discovering they arrived to the house and discovered the joke… not here, they loved it AND the weirdness continued!

Told ya!

Speaking of love, those too could not be more be more perfect for each other, I told them i wanted to take their picture and without saying a word I capture this…

Tucker and Milly were also lovey dovey this weekend, I caught them like this with each other that night….

TJ swears it was all business, he claims he was “keeping an eye on the footage from the surveillance camera”, mmm hm?

Other randomness, Lou got a new laptop and I got new toes!

PObviously my pedicure is much more important even though Lou begs to differ…

It was seriously so exciting though because it was the FIRST  pedicure of the spring/summer and ohh how i am craving the start of summer, sundresses, flip flops, planning vacations, days off work, lounging at the pool on the weekends and eating out on patios!

Speaking of patio’s, Alex finally took me to Zesto for slushies and milkshakes on Sunday, I’m not sure my fascination with this place but since we moved to this area over a year ago I have been dying to go there! I think it’s the old fashion charm, 50’s.. okay maybe it’s just me!

Anyway, we had a great weekend and although i didn’t report the bad behavior from Tucker and Milly for the WEEK LONG that it occurred (not sure what any of it was about), I’m happy to report they have been MUCH better this week!

Oh and next post will hopefully have some Easter festivities, we have already discovered Tucker, along with his daddy is obsessed with the Easter Egg bubble gumI get at Easter time for Lou every year!

Yes, he pulled out all TWO of his tricks for that gum!

Happy Thursday!

I am so happy tomorrow is Friday but I swear the weeks are flying by faster and faster! Anyway, please don’t let this slight vent session get you down because really i just think it’s funny at this point….

My work: Just when I thought my work was bad enough for never having toilet paper, going weeks with out paper towels and our poor copier has been broken for 3 weeks….. Well just when you think “ok one more thing goes wrong and I may just go on strike because I do have standards here” it gets worse…

Today the power went out completely and the electricians are stumped! They say it may be a few days until it’s fixed…. this should be fun!

I have to admit it’s pretty funny when I hear Alex, his co workers and Rachel discuss their work buildings and then i get to tell them about our "make shift" apartment complex where bedrooms are offices and dens are turned into therapeutic group rooms… Ceilings are caving in and fans are hanging from a cord, never any light bulbs, AC is broken and we can’t open windows for confidentiality reasons….

Oh bliss!

I actually took a picture of what we have resourced too as far as paper towels because Alex didn’t believe it could be that bad…

Sad I know but hey, at least they are embroidered! At a residential site, if it’s not tied down it usually walks out with  the clients!

Oh the life of a social worker, ya gotta love it or at least laugh!

Ok on to happier/normal work related topics….

Alex had good news to report after his first day of work at Exide, “I think I’m going to love it”. Yayyy what relief to hear that, I really think he made the right decision!

He has now officially rejected his last offer, from Qualcom in San Diego, they made it 2 days after he started at Exide… I have to say, I think that worked out for the best even though it would be Alex’s dream job as far as Engineering goes but not our dream location… a visit however, would be nice!

So Exide it is,  Alex is loving it and especially the schedule, he gets home during daylight hours… AHHHH!!

The pups have been beyond thrilled and greeting him in the yard every afternoon!

It’s amazing how much extra time you have to get stuff done just getting home by 5:30 or 6 every day as oppose to 7:30! I can’t imagine when we move closer to Alpharetta and lose his commute!

Okay non-work related exciting news:

JJ came to Atlanta Friday and Adeola had her baby shower Saturday!!!

Friday, JJ and I had such high expectations of going somewhere fun to  sit rooftop and enjoy the beautiful day…. Until a small storm hit and we soon were to many drinks down to drive anywhere so to Japanese across the street we walk.. :)

It works!

We got to talk juicy wedding details and I finally got a in person look at her adorable ring!!

We’re so happy for you guys JJ, thanks for coming to play!

Adeola’s Shower was adorable and soo “overboardedly” CUTE!

She reminded me of myself so much at the shower, trying to serve people and forgetting to eat herself…. I had a feeling she did all the work for the shower her self too and her comment was “if you want it to get done, ya gotta do it yourself”.

I think we were long lost twins!

When Alex arrived he was put right to work :)  Adeola’s sister and husband literally thought of everything… there was a photographer, DJ and the food and bar was OUT of control!    Alex loved the food, All Guineas' and Nigerian =lots of spices!

We love you Adeola and So happy to finally meet Foli and Christian, can;t wait to one day meet your new bundle of joy!
