Summer time is in full swing around here and we might just be getting the hang of things… well today i say that (while Lola is napping)! Yesterday was a different story but that is nether here nor their right Lola?
Although I didn’t work much last summer there was the constant pressure of needing to do more, needing to answer my phone, check emails, make sure i don’t et others down, etc. This year summer time is sweet and I am thankful!
The best way to know summer is in full swing is Summer Concert series at the square! It’s one of our favorite things to do!
Last Friday Kayla, Lola and I were on top of things! We went early and got a perfect spot for the night and topped it off with a lunch date outside, the weather had been perfect and not too hot yet for out prego friend!
As soon as daddy came home we packed our stuff and we were off!
We could barely get Lola to sit long enough before she decided she had some “shopping” to do!
She absolutely loved pushing her shopping cart ALL OVER and it was literally embarrassing how much of a scene she was causing, everyone thought she was just adorable (naturally) and the kids at the playground loved her cart!
I love Lola confidence and am so thankful she is full of it! he is also into sharing as these parozers went through her cart, bless her heart she is so kind hearted!
I just love this girl and the life she has given us, everything is so much more with the girl! Pretty soon Kayla will get he baby girl and we can’t wait!
Summer time has been sweet so far! We do lots of pool days and park time to wear this girl out She is way too much like me with the whole sleeping thing and no offense Lola but Mama needs your naps more than you do! We also started gymnasics class which may or may not be about 60% of my reasoning behind needing to qut my job…. Ok not specifically but really.. I have wanted a baby girl my WHOLE life and now i have one, I got one and it was fun but it was a lot of HARD days and night so I will be damned if someone else gets to enjoy the fun stuff with her!
The best part is Ms. Brittany is our coach! WE are so happy we didn’t have to leave her when she stopped being our nanny! Honestly I don’t think either of their hearts could take that!
They went two weeks without seeing each other and this happened as soon as Ms Brittany got to our house to babysit for a quick meeting I had one after our trip….
Lola literally hugged her like that for about 45 seconds to a minute, we almost wondered if something was wrong it was so odd but SO, SO sweet!
The morning of Lola’s first Gymnastics class i was literally chasing her around the room trying to get her to get dressed until I said “Lola, do you want to go see Ms. Brittany?” She literally stopped, said “kyea” with her head non and got dressed!
I called Alex on the way there and said I can’t believe it, I’m driving out baby girl to gymnastics! Does this stuff ever get “normal”!
Lola loves the class so far (we have only had two sessions) but she is doing great! She thinks Ms. Brittany is “hers” and often makes out with the walls because animals and puppies are painted in the toddler room!
Ms. Brittany gives them stamps at the end of class and Lola is the first one to sit on the mat to get her stamps both weeks, the girl loves directions (which is one of the first things Brittany told me about herself when we met her- coincidence, i think not)!
I already noticed a Big difference at Lolas second session! She is getting the hang of it- although still gets distracted and has me chasing her to the others kids areas but she is climbing, hanging on the bars and standing on her hands already!
She also likes the pit much more now! Naturally i got her to jump in by saying “you better not fall in there”! Every chance we get for a pool date, we take it! It helps wear the girl out!
She is getting more and more brave with the pool but still prefers to walk around the EDGE, yes the very edge kicking a ball- such a little soccer star!
We usually have lunch at the pool too and that is just the “coolest” thing ever!
Sometimes we even go AFTER the gymnastics to make sure we’re extra tired!!
Park or pool, pick your poison!
We try to do them both about twice a week!
Lola loves her water bottles (or to go cups) and can push the button herself now on her contigo! She also climbs up the stairs and sits down to go down the slide by herself!
She loves to say “I don’t know” with her arms up in the air now… it’s so cute! I love asking her where stuff is just to get this response! My baby with her baby!
We love snack time! Out and about or picnic style at home!
We have become very fond of our lunch dates too and have many more catch up lunch sessions to go! I feel like I’m catching up on life that i didn’t have when i was working!
We love Aunt Cara and although Lola usually needs a minute to remember who people are- she ALWAYS remembers Aunt Cara and loves her gentle heart so much, so much i think she senses it!
Mommy is also in the “process” of catching up with all her former co-workers and Lola loves to tag along- especially in “scenic environments”!
Believe it or not this SAHM has even stepped it up with the help from Pinterest to have a Monday through Friday MENU!!
It has actually made life easier believe it or not! If I can just manage to find the recipes that work for us (aka 5 ingredients or less) and make a grocery list the rest has pretty much worked itself out! AS oppose to scrambling at 6 when we are all starving (and then settle for cereal)! Lola hasn’t been too impressed by my creations so far but I’m hoping to win her over tonight with grilled chicken and peach cobbler! We used to bathe Lola every other night but since summer is her and girlfriend is MUCH more active now (aka dirtier) we have been making it a nightly thing and YES baby girl still prefers the tub! So does her mama!
We are loving these long slow days and we’re so thankful for a hard working daddy that kisses us goodbye bright and early every morning telling us to make sure we “have fun” every day!
