I was so excited for this years Memorial Day and having Lola at the pool!
Last year she was so tiny and I was literally a nervous wreck of her being out in the sun so this year is BIG deal for me! Then again when is it not when it involve the girl?
First things first, ya got to have a watermelon!
Check, Memorial weeekend can officially begin!
I thik it was our first ever Memorial weekend being home but after all the traveling we did, there was no place i would rather be! Lola wasn’t so sure about the pool at first (and it was super cold) but eventually she got in with daddy Lou and then me, in her float and stayed in it as long as she could watch the other kids play!
I tried to sneak in a much “lay out” time as i could… it surely doesn’t come easy these days!
It never fails though, if i ever attempt to take my eyes off of her she always “finds me”!
“Mommy is this your chair, oh mommy here is your water!”
The next day we were back at it!
Little miss thing was getting more brave and we weren’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing… Lunch by the pool? I think so!
Who doesn’t love a good (virgin) pina colada after the pool and a good nap?
Monday finally came and we were so (patriotic) and happy that daddy got to be home from work!
It was a bit rainy but we got a lot done being home together! We are hoping to have our house listed on the market by the end of this month and there is SO much to be done! Lola and I are hoping for a nice flat house with lots of grass and less stairs!
By the way, the girl eats watermelon now!!! Woohoo!! I think that makes like 5 things now on her list of “likes’!! Well daddy got a lot done until this happened…. if Lola is feeling cuddly….. NO ONE move!
Part of Alex and I deciding to move to another house in the same area was the reality that… we aren’t moving closer to the beach any time soon sadly. So i had talked with Alex about wanting to buy a small lake house where we could go to get away for the weekend without the long commute to Hilton Head each time…..
I told dad about our plans and apparently he was in, literally! In less than a week he had met a realtor and bought this beauty on Lake Sinclair!! Mom and I (and Lola) cant wait to get our hands on it and put some of our touches on it! Looks like girl friend will have a new get away after all! Better get to loving the water Lo!
We hope everyone had a happy and safe memorial weekend!
