Don’t let them fool you, this is the most still they were the whole night… and we loved every minute of it!
Alex’s cousin Samantha and her mom, Aunt Sherry have made our house one of their pit stops on the way to Forida the last few summers and we love it because not only do they bring their selves… but Sam’s three baby girls!
Ainsley, Mira and Lainey are absolute dolls and this time Lola was old enough to play with them!
We spent the day getting ready for their arrival and after getting caught up in some traffic and spending the afternoon at the aquarium we finally got the call “they’re on the way!” We decided watermelon, cheese and crackers and cookies would be the best treat for their long hours of being in the car!
You would be surprised how hard it actually was to keep this girl ad her daddy away from the watermelon until they arrived! They arrived pretty tired from a big day of riding and it only took about five minutes for that tiredness to turn into this!
Oh yes, I told Sam “Don’t worry it’s only becuase they are ‘new toys’ to your girls, they are just excited”- she then informed me they do this to her house everyday…. oops, I tried!
We decided very quickly there would be no sitting and eating together so we all fixed a plate and moved into the den, picnic style! The girls were so excited! I was actually pretty surprised Lola still sat in her chair while the girls sat at the tea party table…. She also wanted to eat what they ate so she had her first bite of hot dog and a Dorito!
After we ate it was dance party time and Lola had been practiing her dance party moves!
Aren’t they just adorable!? Lola kept doing this to Laineys head…. we weren’t sure why… I don’t think she knew the baby was real… thankfully since Lainey was the third child her mom didn’t seem to mind our odd behavior…
Is she the cutest little chunker monk!
Lou couldn’t get enough of her, he said it had been too long since he had held a baby that tiny (technically i think her and Lola weighed the same!)
I was so proud of Lola, not only did she LOVE her company but she handled the “displacement” of her toys very well!
Typically her OCD with her things comes off as not sharing because she wants everything in a certain place but she actually did pretty well!
Then it was time to start the bedtime process…. and i do mean process! it took about two hours and then Alex ended up rocking Lola for 2 more hours!
Ainsley was going to sleep on a pallet on the floor i made for her and Lola and Mira thought this was the coolest thing ever!
Mira ended up sleeping on the pallet…
and Ainsley ended up in the bed with her grandma…
We had to talk Lola into going in to her room by putting her sleeping bag on the floor from Uncle Any and Aunt Rachel… she loved it!
The next morning Lola learned a valuable lesson… never stay up too late partying with your friends when you have to be at the gym the next morning! I did let her sleep in until about 9:30 until I woke her up to see her cousins before we and they both hit the road!
Don’t you jut love Miras’ shirt…. Beautiful Chaos (she’s the rebel of the family) ;)
The girls said their goodbyes and we made them promise that next time they come they need to stay longer!
