We left the craziness of Switzerland behind us and with a lot of hives, meds and swollenness we maneuvered on to Florence!
Lola made herself quite at home here!
Here were some pics of our room! My favorite part was Lola crawling, literally into bed with us at night and falling back asleep! –we had put the small mattress on the floor against our bed and let Loa sleep there, about halfway through each night she would wake up crying and crawl up against me to fall back asleep!
I loved it! Like any new city, we started with testing out the food!
This was one of our favorite restaurants and it was like dining down in Mom-moms cellar!
Lola was not a fan but everyone else was!
The cutest little hole in the wall! On another note I got my first real kiss from the girl while here and it was the sweetest thing i have ever felt!
So night one in Italy was complete by our first kiss and gelato experience!
On our wal home (and everywhere else after) we were constantly hoping to see a person actually get in and drive away…. I saw this everywhere over there! I think they knew to stop when they heard a “thump”! Alexs’ other Florence favorite was the doors everywhere! They must have been 15 foot tall and solid wood with beautiful design!
It was so late but Lola refused to get in her stroller that night! Lovie, Paci, Jams and Aunt Taytay is all she wanted!
Our first full day there was full of exploring, pictures, museums, walking and finding more hole in the walls to eat at!
This was pretty much what happened the whole trip….. Aunt Taytay please! All Smiles!
I had the boys take a picture in front of the restaurant we ate in this day, it was like a cave inside!
Lola met a sweet little boy who’s dad worked there- pretty sure we were getting him in trouble! !
Lola fell asleep after lunch and we walked our way down to the museum-with a few pit stops!
We got our street art, gelatto, selfie stick (only 10$) and our tickets! We were ready!
Well Lola and I tried to be interested for about 20 minutes but that whole “don’t touch anything” just didn’t sit well with us so we found the nearest exit and hauled but outside to find… anything else while the big kids museum-ed on! !
Welcome to a concrete paradise!
Thankfully the big kids finished just as we were getting restless, and having Aunt Taytay withdrawals! We decided to head back to make it out in time to go to the countryside for dinner somewhere authentic that night!
This was possibly the best part of our night! Or landlord opted to drive us to dinner and stopped here to let us watch the sunset, it was gorgeous and out timing was coincidently perfect! selfie stick!
The sun down celebration commenced and we loaded back up to head to dinner (lola had already fallen fast asleep) and then all hell broke loose!
After riding about 30 (more) minutes into the country(and the “restaurant” calling twice to ask “where are they”) i had decided we were being kidnapped!
Full panic attack ensued and all my nails came off!
Fortunately it was only him scheming us to a place in the middle of no where to give his friends restaurant business (and get a free meal himself suppose while he waited for us to eat) but hey, if eating in the middle of nowhere is the alternative to being kidnapped and having our head chopped off I’m okay with that!
It took me about 10 minutes of sitting there and another family walking in to finally sit back in my chair and relax…. ahhhh yes, watch too much Dateline!
The place was very cute, empty, but very cute! I have to say though, thinking we were being kidnapped and then walking in to find this was not to heartfelt!
The next day Tara and I ran out (literally) to do some market shopping and bought some art from a real- we think Italian artist all before catching the train to Rome!
Silly Tara forgets, when you shop with me, their is no time for eating! Lola decided she had to “go” while Aunt Taytay was waiting for her art work…
We got to see so much more in Florence and by then wished we had more time!
On to Rome we go though and I was SO excited!
