This past week we were getting ready to head to the beach for our first beach trip of the summer and we thought we would break Lola in with lots of pool time.. you know, to prep!
This was the first time she discovered the baby pool and got a little brave with that… she loved the hose and one of my goals in our move is finding a sprinkler friendly yard!
We’re super cool, swear. We love snack time!
We have slightly worked out a nice (for me) little summer pool schedule on the weekends with Lola…. We take her to the pool for an hour or so before her nap and then Daddy Lou takes her back to put her down for a nap while I stay at the pool to RELAX (only place in the world- besides the beach- where this is possible) and study for my next licensure exam!
This way Daddy Lou has time to get stuff done after she goes down and I get ME time!
Looks like fun huh… LOL Mommy’s little mini me!
Happy girl! All smiles from this water girl!
Lola loves binging her bath toys from Jammy to the pool!
Sometimes we even do a little nighttime skinny dipping with daddy… on week nights!! Yes, because we are SO wild like that!
This was probably the most productive pool session we have ever had!
Lola learned to “fly”, put her face in the water and jump into the water!
I played with the slow motion app on my phone and got some great videos!
Every time we let her put her face in and come back up she would almost squirm out of daddy’s hands to do it again!
Lola you hold Peppa and Daddy Lou’s got you! Deal!
Its official, we have a water bug! Thank you lord!! Is it me or does she look completely like little Lou in this pic?
No shame in this baby girls game!
In other news, I noticed that I say Lola’s middle name now more than i say her first name and here is a glimpse of why….
Shopping ha become absolute chaos with Lola these days and almost impossible without help! She hates sitting in the cart anymore and actually has a preference on things she wants now… like this lawnmower!
We don’t even bother bringing the stroller to the mall anymore either… because who would ride in that?! I have almost completely given up on trying to have clean windows because little miss watermelon fingers usually follows me around to EVERY window!
While I cook i try to entertain her but it usually ends up being “lets take anything and everything out of the cabinets”! Either that or BED to get up on the counter with me to see what’s going on!
I will say though her naps have gotten A LOT better! She sleeps for at least 2 hours and you wake up SO happy always ready to have a tea party with your friends!
If you lay a blanket down everything becomes a “tea party”! Thankfully with this little wild thing we had aunt Taytay come to town for a short visit over the weekend and Lola stayed up way past her bedtime to wait for her arrival!
It was their first time seeing each other since we got back from Italy and it was so very sweet! Taytay’s snap as soon as she got here! She face timed Lola while we were feeding ducks and then walked up to find “she’s really here!”
Taytay even brought Lola some new farm animals and they were s excited to open them we plopped right down on the grass and opened it up!
Happy Friday from Lola, Aunt Taytay is here and we were doing some thrift shopping for our next project!
Lola has fallen in love with Taylor Swift!
We left the store so Taytay played it on her phone for us… Lola was jamming out but then she saw her friend…!
That night we had dinner with Lola’s sweet friend Mason and his mommy and daddy and oh are they a handful! I think Lola was the bad influence… when we left Alex said… Oh boy, I think Lola is spoiled, she only sat in her chair for about 10% of dinner!
Thankfully their are NO rules when Aunt Tatty is here!
Baby in a box… a very tired baby in a box!
The next day we slept in late (hooray and thank you Lola) and headed to brunch on the square since our favorite Cafe 33 is relocating and not opened yet!
This was also her first pony tail!
We had a full week with lots of swimming and shopping and then it was time for our company and Lola’s first sleepover with her cousins! So we ran to Target to get a few things goodies for the girls big trip before their arrival!
We were so excited for a sleepover!
We walked out the house and I had one of those “God how are you mine and what did i do to get you!?” moments… I love and hate those moments… seriously though… when has a chikfila cup ever looked so cute?
We came home with (lots of things we didn’t need) and got all ready for our party!
More of Lola’s sleepover and beach trip to come!
