So this was by far my “easiest” birthday party yet for Lola! I planned it to be at a very small ice cream shop back home so I would be forced to limit myself…. it worked!
It was simple yet cute- best of all Lola LOVED it and was SO excited!
However, I think I seriously need a pat on the back for what you see below- her cake.. amongst many other things that decided to try and make me stress on Lola’s FIRST EVER no stress birthday party!
Poor Gigi drove to Savannah twice to order and pick up a unicorn birthday cake that I had found on Pinterest.
The night before the birthday party she called and said they completely ruined the cake- it was a black stencil of a unicorn with orange writing that said “Happy Birthday Lola”.
What the actual fuck.
So they scraped the whole thing and I scrambled to find someone who could literally make a unicorn cake that night- Alex ended up deciding he was going to be maser chef and make this Pinterest inspired cake himself…
Later that night I also found out the two large booths do not have tables- like at all. Apparently they expect you to sit and hold your ice cream.
With both of these last minute issues I had decided by morning to send Alex to Lowes to buy tables for the booth areas and I surrendered and decided to throw a damn unicorn straw in the cake I had bought at Publix and thankfully shuffled down to Statesboro.
So here you have it- thankfully no one even noticed and even those who did loved it!
Lola certainly didn’t mind and because I was so fed up with the cake situation after we blew out her candles I just let her eat it with a fork and never even served it!
S o here you have it, we only got there an hour before the party started and it was perfect timing (can you believe last year and the year before we spent literally days!?)!
Lola literally thought Neyney’s babies coming was the best part of her birthday! She must have held Maddie for almost 10 minutes straight!
Lola was so excited to pass out all of her unicorn goody bags!
I was so proud of her, she said thank you after opening each of her presents and greeted everyone hello and goodbye- mostly with hugs!Squad Goals.
We had the best celebration with you baby girl! We are so excited to see what 3 has in store for us and the life of a big sister!
Sister was so pooped and we were just glad we survived a “Lola birthday party” being 7 months pregnant!
We were exhausted but since our cousins were here we wanted to spend the most time with them that we could possibly allow! So we headed t the park to feed the ducks and ended it with El Som so sissy could do an official Statesboro birthday celebration the right way!
These party animals were DONE!
The next day was the most beautiful Spring like day and it made us crave the Florida trip ahead of us- so we said our goodbyes and hit the road!
Our saddest yet happiest goodbye was to our Uncle B! He has been home since Christmas and waited until Lola’s birthday to hit the road again (or airplane)!
We were leaving for Florida and he was off to India!
We are so excited for him but he informed me next time I see him I will be a family of four- oh dear Lord did that resignate!
Next stop Florida!
