Well we talked daddy Lou into working from home a bit to make our labor day trip home feel a bit more extended…. he agreed and thought he would test out his “ability”to work from home…
No really, we’re sorry Daddy Lou…. we will mind our own business!
Honestly though, how cute are these two…. Monkey see, monkey do!
Lola loves taking my notebook and doodling in it!
So I got Lo out of the house to give daddy a “break””" to actually get work done and we got some last minute essentials for the last beach trip of the year!
Last beach trip of the year being in September means candy corn is an essential!
We left late that night but that didn’t mean anything to Lola!
We pulled out the driveway and little grama in the back was all set up with her pillow and blanket in her lap, chicken nuggets and her tablet!
Lou worked form home in Statesboro until we headed out to his moms and then Hilton Head for the weekend so we had to comply with out Statesboro duties ;)
Lola knows the only naps you get in the Boro is in the car! Tara watched Lola for a bit while I got my nails done and she sent me this snap I couldn’t resist the screen shot!
One last thing to check off our list while in the Boro…. stocking up on GSU supplies!!
Out of all the cute boutiques we hit up where do we find GSU shirts for the girl (and a hat for daddy) at wal-mart of course!
We even did a little grocery shopping at Aunt Taytay’s while Daddy finished working….this is where we learned all about the screaming goat!
This girl decided to start grocery shopping in Tays pantry and “cook” packs of Jello in her toaster oven….she then told us” bye-bye” with her keys, cell phone (being held up by her shoulder of course!) and shopping bag as she walked to the door.
Busy business call…. obviously.
Be still my heart, she is following in my footsteps way too fastly! Lola then grabbed my hand and walked around to the garage door asking me to open it so she could actually “go” shopping… so we made a loop from the garage and arrived at the front door!
It satisfied her and so did her pop from Aunt Taytay when they parted (until I threw it out the window 2 minutes later for dripping EVERYWHERE)!
We were off to our next stop, Lola’s Grama Karens house!
Milly loves being wild and free with her cousins… and the quacks!
Lola got the bucket and then realized all the food was gone! We perked her back up with golf cart rides until dinner time!Notice Lo had to copy daddy and I by propping her foot up too! The next day we were off and headed BEACH bound!!
Somehow the hour and a half drive from Alexs moms house to the beach always ends up taking about 5 hours to actually GET to the beach! This dainty little thing is not one for sand usually but she made BIG improvements!!
When we got there I set her in the sand and she literally did not move for about 30 minutes… she literally played just standing there.
She wouldn’t sit or grab anything unless we handed it to her… if she needed something she would just point and scream at us to hand it to her…
She even made us “wash” things off with her buckets of ocean water….
Girlfriend wants mommy to do EVERYTHING with her these days! Mom convinced her into sitting down in a chair…. she complied and then tried to do everything again while sitting….honestly she looked SO uncomfortable and unnatural… bless her! I had really talked up “sand castles” before we got to the beach and bought lola all new buckets shovels and toys to get her more interested…. it worked.
Kind of…. she liked the idea of making them as long as daddy did all the “dirty work”!
She would then point to tell him where to put it…
Then it was time to “wash off” with daddy!
Oh their sweetness! She only likes being held in the water, not so much being In the ocean!
My favorite view! Snack time with the sister!
The clouds started to roll in and Daddy Lou could not have been happier!
He LOVES a beach storm! Look at those clouds rolling in! We got one pic before the rain came!
I thought it was time to go and daddy says we are just getting started! Sweet daddy’s girl! Here comes the storm!
Below, my all time favorite pic of them!
That’s a Lola fail…. she was mad because i ruined her and daddy’s game! ALL TIME FAV.
The next day wasn’t much “better” as far as storms everywhere but these two crazy boys thought it was just perfect!
I made them pose ;)
All of a sudden the bottom fell out, Lola was up in the condo napping with Gigi and I ran to the umbrella which 5 seconds later had to be taken down because the rain and wind was blowing so hard!
The boy is crazy..
I begged and pleaded and watched crazy people chase flying umbrellas and floats and finally we packed up and headed….. to the POOL!
Lola had just woken up and the storm (go figure) got better as soon as we left the beach and it was a lot less windy at the pool!
The sister didn’t have her bathing suit on but that didn’t slow her down!
We got hit by another down pour just before calling it quits so we took shelter under the Tiki bar and had some snacks until making a run for it!
That night we had a little photo shoot (gone wrong) before dinner at Nutty and Jammys!
Jammy’s house is like a little girls dream playground and a mommy’s worse nightmare…. thankfully we got lots of entertainment out of it and nothing broken!
Lola loved playing with the cups and wine corks ;)
That and the Yeti box from Jammys new fancy cooler provided hours of entertainment!
That night Lola was so tired and we all swore she would probably fall asleep in the car on the way back……
Then it was tea party time!
She did makeup for it the next day! She let us sleep in and even took a car nap when we headed out!Naturally Lola fell asleep as soon as we arrived to see my sweet (grown up) baby girl Ana at their new GORGEOUS home in Bluffton! They even have an alligator who lives in their backyard… literally!
Ana was so sweet as always to Lola, she had a bag of her old jewelry waiting for her and was ready to give away any doll Lola showed interest in!
Ana is going to be the best (baby sitter and) mommy one day! It does my heart good seeing that sweet girl but I am kicking myself for not getting a picture of her and Lola together!
Just as luck would have it Lo fell asleep again JUST as we arrived in Savannah to visit sweet Dana who is STILL in the hospital trying her very best to recover!
Thankfully Aunt Taytay who is the best hospital guest ever was a “car baby sitter for us” while we went in to see Dana…. you can imagine Lola’s surprise as she woke up to Aunt Taytay being in the car!
I was a very EVENTFUL trip home and we got back needing a vacation from our vacation! Thankfully for Lou it was a short week and we got to recover a bit this weekend!
I can’t believe Summer is already over. bitter sweet I suppose… but we could not be more excited about FALL being here!!
Lola slept in her pumpkin pajamas tonight for the first time this year and we had temps down to the high 50’s this weekend!
Fall, bring it!
