Meet lo, she doesn’t slow down and she doesn’t sit. She never EVER puts herself in a “vulnerable position” such as leaning on someone or God forbid laying her head on your shoulder….
So you can imagine the level of sickness this pitiful thing endured to be sleeping on me, napping with me and wanting to be held non stop since Last Friday..
Isn’t it the sweetest!?!?
We started the week off fairly normal by getting back into our routine after being gone..
We had our clean house day, pool day and gymnastics class all before things headed south! Its a shame she just has no personality…. Tried to squeeze in some studying… “Ha. Ha. Ha”
We even tested out the new Cafe 33 (since they re-located) after gymnastics class on Wednesday with Aunt Kayla!
Lola finihed an entire biscuit!!! Well, minus what she threw on the floor which was about half…. but still!
Thursday we even had a lunch date with my former co-workers and sweetest friends at a mexican joint near my old work!
Lola and I were- sit down- EARLY for once!!! So we decided to have a little photo shoot before the rest of our girls made it!
Isn’t her dress the sweetest from JJ and Coco from her birthday! Daddy’s home tea parties were in full affect this week too! They both love their “milk tea” but daddy’s has to have chocolate! We also invited our sweet neighbor (whom Lola loves to spy on) Mr. Henry for a cook out to thank him for taking such sweet care of our babies while we were gone last week!
Lola was up pretty late that night with the pool Daddy and Mr. Henry put up on the back deck and having fun blowing bubbles so although it was odd I thought that was why she was tired enough to sleep in until I WOKE HER UP at well…
We got it together and eventually made it to the pool to meet MS. BRITTANY! Lola was SO excited!
Even Ms Brittany noticed then that something was off w Lo… She was getting so tire (in public!) and was more quiet but also more clingy… she only wanted me to hold her which is unusual when her favorite peeps are around!
So we headed back for her to get a nap and I had to wake her up from that to at about 5:40…. The rest of the night she was clingy, whiny and then started running a fever!
Her daddy came home and went into his usual Louness… Taking temps, giving meds and looking up symptoms (I swear he should have been a doctor- maybe it would make him less worried when we get sick- if not then scratch that plan!)…
If this tells you anything; he HONESTLY did not even enjoy that cuddle you see above because he couldn’t quit worrying about if she was okay, what was wrong, what should we do, what could it be etc..
I must be WAY more optimistic…. I was worried and felt terrible that she was sick but honey, this girl NEVER wants to just lay down and cuddle and I knew soon enough this bug would ass so I enjoyed those cuddles while I could!
Lou took her temperature about midnight while she was sleeping and it was 104.5….. when you google that temp in a baby it says “TAKE THEM TO THE ER”.
Pretty scary stuff! So we/he called the doctor and gave her meds and about 30 minutes later it was coming down… still about 102 but what a relief to know the meds worked!
I fell asleep with Lola after that and I don’t think Lou slept at all, Literally… he was alternating her meds every 3 hours and taking her temperature about every hour..
The next morning I woke up and saw this.. and about 5 minutes later they were pulling in the driveway!
I was so upset yet so thankful…. I have NEVER missed a doctors appointment but Daddy Lou thought I (of all people) needed the sleep so he took Lola bright and early that morning to be seen!
They believed she had Roseola and turns out they were right (after she broke out in a rash yesterday that confirmed it)!
After her appointment which Daddy says he was literally traumatized from Lola actually seemed to be doing really well! I was so happy thinking it was over….
We took Lola shopping to make up for her nasty visit after her mama changed her clothes of course (sorry Daddy)!
We had diner that night and after diner we noticed another sinking spell with the girl…
If you know Lola THIS gives it away….
Aren’t I pathetic… I knew she didn’t feel good and then she rested her head on daddy…... that can never mean anything good but i had to take a picture anyway!
The next two days we had full blown pitifulness… We were so thankful thought that she seemed to still be interested in water and her sippy… that was such a RELIEF!
Lola got to sleep in our bed with us all weekend so we could cuddle and give her her meds and she actually slept!
Don’t judge our blankets in the windows! Our room is super bright so we had to darken it for Lola to sleep with us!
By Monday we were on the UP! No completely there but getting there!
… and by Tuesday Lola even let me make it out the house for the first time to go grocery chopping for our annual Fourth trip!
I’m so thankful she didn’t get sick while we were out of town and is no longer contagious by the time we’re going out of town again! I’m happiest to report besides her lingering clinginess we are. dare i say, all better!!!
Just in time for the fourth- good planning Lola! We are excited to be spending it with out Fourth crew again this year for the FOURTH year! We’re heading out tomorrow at lunch and are pretty pumped!!
Happy Fourth everyone and safe travels!
