I can’t believe I am writing this during what will be our last beach trip of the summer…
Our last beach trip with a two year old.
Do you know I have waited my WHOLE IFE to take a 2 year old to the beach!!??
It was honestly EVERYTHING I dreamed it would be and more… we have been so go, go, go trying to soak it ALL up!
Side note: Twice since we have been here I told another mom “ I only wish I could have a two year old in my house forever and ever” they both looked at me with pure shock on their face lol
It’s true it can be tiring but Oh how they make you live!
We do still plan to get a few more lake trips into September hopefully but for now we are soaking up our last beach week!
To truly “soak up our time” here I’m throwing out some short and sweet mostly pictures blogs while we’re here to get caught up!
This summer may also be forever remembered as the summer of the traveling potty seat!
Lol- call me a genius or a sicko but we literally walk out of stores just to use our potty car! It’s been our life savior!
We typically go before and after entering or exiting a store so we don’t have accidents… now she only goes once maybe every other stop when we’re out because she is already getting better at holding it longer!
(We’re so proud of you Sissy)!
Here’s our last two lake trips! Inclusive of Lou’s first time on the wakeboard in years, sister got her very own TUBE and Tatertots first lake trip!
The smile when you arrive at Popp’s Lake House is like no other! She say’s “We’re HERE” as soon as we pull into the marina and I almost lost my mind with her climbing all over me in the boat hen they picked us up this past time until she told me “Mommy I just so excited”!
You win Lola, you win!
As Always, Gigi was ready and waiting with Happy Hour on board!
Daddy had not wake boarded in years and would ya know he got up and stayed up the entire time on his first try! Well, when I say stayed up I mean “Stayed up until he voluntarily fell” from being tired lol apparently it’s exhausting!
I seriously feel bad for Lola when Daddy is on the wake board… she is SO worried about him! She doesn’t want to be bothered she just wants to focus on her daddy!
As soon as he falls she says “What happen daddy? You just got tired?” He know now to yell back “Daddy just got tired Lola” as soon as he falls!
She loves having her daddy back IN the boat!
We decided to go ahead and buy Lola a tube and she could not wait to test it out! She already requested mommy and daddy go with her on her first trip!
I literally had to as Poppy to go “a little bit faster” about 5 times… I was sweating we were going so slow lol I just need a LITTLE breeze! She did great and LOVED holding on!
This was the after picture! She was so proud of herself (and I was sweating)!
I told Sister now that she tubed she had to learn the surfers lingo… she was not interested! We have sworn the entire month of August has had the most amazing sunsets! Poppy got a golf cart for the lake house so we took a little drive to take in some different unset spots and it literally POURED down rain on us!
Day two and Daddy just had to practice, practice!
How sweet is this sugar lips!?!?
We learned quickly that when you tell sister she has to pee pee in a potty you can not later tell her “except when swimming at the lake beach” how do you explain to a two year old “oh now it’s okay to go in your pants”…
So yet another potty is needed for the boat lol
How does every weekend end so soon?
Oh. and can we talk about those legs… they just won’t stop growing!
We made it just before the storm hit!
It was less than a week later and sister packed her bags to go right back to Poppy’s!
#ready
Ready to watch daddy wake board!
Helping Poppy”decorate” the skewers, this girl loves a job!
That evening just before dinner sister talked daddy into going tubing without even having her swim suit on!
The sun was setting and the water was like glass, it was beautiful!
She loved it and insisted on paci and lovie immediately after… she didn’t have a nap that day and was SO tired but still couldn’t resist a evening ride!
That day was our 17 year anniversary of our first date and oh did the sky light up for us that night! It was beautiful!
17 years and he still hates pictures….
….but he also still relentlessly caves into giving me whatever I want lol
We went out with Tara, Vince and Dana and then had dinner by ourselves and met them for drinks afterwards..
We spent most of dinner talking about how lucky we were to have the people we have in our lives and for the gift of Lola.
I always knew we would have a little girl and I ALWAYS knew it would be when I was truly the happiest but I had no idea the happiness she would really bring us.
Then we started talking about how both Lola’s nannies, Charisa and Brittany were the perfect fit for the perfect amount of time in our life… it’s neat and really comforting to look back and remember the fear with each choice we made when she was little (and even now) and seeing how it all worked out!
After dinner we met Tara, Vince, Dana and Vince’s friends (because lord knows that social butterfly has them everywhere) at an old bank that’s now a bar and it was adorable! They even converted the old safe into a little private dining wine cellar area.
My girl had her firs sleepover in Gigi and Poppy’s room and woke u so proud of herself!
Soaking up our last day!
How cute is this romper Aunt Taytay and Vince got Lola from the last trip to New York!?!?
Channeling Tucker Jones, this sweet, sweet boy will soon be a Diabetes trained therapy dog! He is just the cutest!
Taytay found a crawfish fishing lure (the day after Mr. Lousisiana himself -Vince had worn a crawfish shirt) and Lola was OBSESSED with that fishing lure!
Se even fell asleep for over an hour and never let go of it!
It was time to yet again, say goodbye to Gigi and Poppy and the lake for now!
Would you believe we literally drove right off and realized Milly was still sitting on the dock! The worst part is Alex nor I was the one to realize we left her.
