I believe at this current time I have about 4 unfinished blogs lost somewhere in draft world but they are going to stay lost for now… Lets move on to something exciting and manageable to complete!
Like Tina and Lauryn’s wedding recaps!
Ready to go on another road trip Lola!??!?
Lola was such a trooper as always……I had to go to the salon with Tina and the girls for most of the day and then to pictures before the wedding so I knew it was going to be a long day and I literally had anxiety the night before just thinking about leaving her for that long….. I guess I prepare myself to a certain extent during the week to make it to work but on the weekends just thinking of being away from her more is horrible!
I guess I contribute that to being a working mama but honestly even if i stayed home i wonder if i would ever get enough of her… Let’s be honest. I don’t think it’s possible to ever get enough of her!
So we made it to Statesboro and morning came quick! I had (barely) prepared myself to leave her with Alex for long enough to get my hair done and then he was “instructed” to get her to me about an hour later so I could feed her! Well on my way out the door I literally snatched her and yelled “change of plans” (which also meant we boycotted the morning nap- rebels i tell ya)!
Lola was so excited for yet another salon day with mommy!
She was passed around for hours and it was perfect because she was able to meet a lot of my girlfriends she hadn’t met yet while mommy got pretty!
The best part was we managed to have a mini college/Zetterower reunion and it was JUST what I didn’t know I REALLY needed!!
Don’t you just love the friends you can go months without seeing and pick up right where you left off!?!?
JJ and I got super classy on the way to Tinas pictures (taken by the famous Cadahhh) we tested out Statesboros first Drive through gas station for wine (and of course sunflower seeds for JJ)! I had a picture of this amazing experience but now i can’t find it… sad i know!
Back to Tina, this was our first look at her with the dress on and she was absolutely gorgeous!
Did I mention how popular Tina is… she had 17 bridesmaids… I don’t even know 17 people! Not to mention she also had 4 “honorary bridesmaids”! Basically if you weren’t in tina’s wedding you suck at life and didn’t make the cut ;)
Above is a picture of all of us being nosy to get a peak of their first look at each other!Lou had taken Lola back home to get a good nap in before the wedding… I warned him ANYTHING you want to get accomplished (such as getting yourself ready, showering etc.) has to be done during her nap time… he didn’t listen.
Somehow he managed to still get himself ( I hear he made amini pillow floor fort?) and the girl ready (thanks Tara) and made it JUST in time to see us walk down the aisle!
Good Job Lou and thanks for your help Aunt taytay (and for the pic)!
I left her outfit out for them to dress her (the sweater and leggings were a “just in case” its cold out later in the night type thing) and there I am standing up with Tina signing to them while gritting my teeth “get that sweater and leggings off of her!”…
Poor baby was probably sweating- I think they thought they would be in trouble! if they didn’t put it all on her- bless it!
Can I say this is why i love my friends, cheese Tina, cheese!
The guy I walked with also had a little one, she was four months old and we found them at the end of the aisle chatting with each other in their own language… so sweet! she was so happy mommy rescued her from that sweater and hot leggings- oh yeah and she kicked the shoes off too!
Lola later pulled them right out the dirt and made a fun little mess all over the table… at least Lou got to eat! The perfect night!
See what happens when you take her paci out… its pathetic. This was as good as we could get without a paci..
The only girl who ever got him to dance…
Lola got in some extra JJ time before Lola’s other sweet aunties swept her away and put her to bed for me! Thanks Ney, Stephanie and Tara for giving this mommy and daddy a few hours out as hubby and wife!
I hate to admit it but it was such a long day Lou and I actually went home an hour or two after Lola left (and snuck in her room to tell her goodnight)! One day we will put on our big kid panties and get a “real” date night out… not today!
Sunday we played in the sunshine while Daddy Lou built Aunt Tara a beautiful coffee table!
Good quality sissy time! One stop shop, Daddy Lou does it all!
We convinced him to take two breaks… Lola time and El som time!
we got our fix and headed home only to do unpack, pack and do it all over again… but this time in Florida for Lauryn’s wedding!
The very next weekend we were at it again! We drove for what seemed like all day and finally checked in to the hotel about midnight…. guess who was suddenly wide awake with their second wind!
Lola’s first night in a hotel and se was WOUND UP!
Daddy Lou didn’t help, he only gets her going more! I remember Tara and I used to be the same way, we would get so excited about staying in hotels and jump from one bed to another!
It was yet another interesting experience on how to deal with a baby in ONE ROOM especially when you refuse to let them touch anything! Her grampa did get her two new Peppa the Pig spatulas though and thankfully they kept her busy paws off other things mommy didn’t approve of!
I tried getting all of Lolas summer clothes out that she barely wore to give them one last go round! It’s so weird to think she will never wear something again…. ok next subject!
Getting pretty with mama again and thankfully Lou and Lola hung out with me most of the day until her nap- crisis averted!
Lauryn was such a calm bride and had it all so together, I asked her a few times if she really felt that way or if things just appeared that way… everything flowed so well and it was so BEAUTIFUL!
Here we are on the way to the “chapel” aka hunting club!
Did I mention everything was STUNNIGN!!
I got to walk with Lauryns little brother Hunter, the first time I met him he was walking around in a diaper!
Lauryn LOVES Lola and Lola was waiting to give her kisses at the end of the aisle!
Good job daddy Lou for getting to yet another wedding on time with Lola and you both dressed!! The life of a bridesmaid I tell ya.. I miss this baby!
One day we will get a family pic with all of us smiling….. right?
The beautiful bride, Mrs. King!
Lola was going strong WAY after her bedtime!!
Is this sign perfect or what… I should have stolen it for Kaylas wedding!
Lola and I got to “wedding dance” for the first time and she was pretty much passed all around the dance floor! She loved it, I can’t wait to see those pictures!
Speaking of pictures Lola experienced her first photo booth!
What a night, it was a beautiful wedding and Lauryn and Evan seem like the perfect match!
The next day we, slept in until about 8:30, THANK YOU LOLA before getting a start to our day of exploring!
The weather was perfect and I was so excited to play tourist in St. Augustine and I spotted what was a must for our first stop… Flagler college, it was gorgeous and an old hotel that looked so similar to the inside of the titanic on the inside, it was gorgeous! Isn’t it gorgeous!?The outside was equally gorgeous and had a beautiful courtyard!
We took Lola to a museum to see the fish and she couldn’t care less, she looked like a little old lady (grumpy old lady) who was clenched as tight as she could be to her spatula….
This street reminded us of St. Thomas, it was so cute and we decided we just had to eat there…. unfortunetly Lou decided to test out cuban food (thanks to a coworker picking in him for never having had a “cuban sandwhich”) so we did and it was, lets just say, nothing to go crazy about.
It was a sandwhich, thankfully the atmosphere was worth it… and the mimosa!
This restaurant below was adorable and mom spotted it in my snapchat as somewhere we used to go when we were little… apparently you can feed the fish from your table!
Lola is such a sensory baby, she loves to have her hand on our chest and she loves sunshine and a good breeze!! I mean really, look at that face.
our last stop was the fort and we decided to have a picnic for Lola to eat (some prunes)!
Excuse the overboardness- I can’t decide which of her faces i like best… she has so many expressions! It’s so bizarre going new places with Lola, I remember when i used to see mommys out with their babies… I thought nothing of it (other than damn, I wish that was me) it never occurred to me they could be as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning just for experiencing a new moment at a new age with their new baby!
Now I know.
Every day is new with Lola and every place is new for us with Lola… the excitement of the ins and outs of everyday raising her is absolutely breathtaking. As we were walking back to the car, Lola began to wave “bye bye’ to everyone we passed! It was hilarious and others were waving back to her! What a whirlwind of the last two weeks! We were so busy and caught up in packing, driving and brides schedules but we were together and I’m so glad we got to make these memories with these sweet friends in our lives!
Love you ladies, cheers to you both!!
