I can’t believe it’s already been 4 years since we tied the knot and headed off to Jamaica to honeymoon with –literally- nothing but LOVE!
Well, love, eachother and big dreams!
Alex was still in school at Clemson and I had just found out 2 weeks before the wedding that I was accepted into grad school at Kennesaw to get my Masters in Social Work.
We literally thought life couldn’t get any better and yet year by year and day by day it has!
I honestly am so proud and amazed at who that little boy that I have always been so deeply in love with and infatuated by has become! We had lunch together today and I realized I hadn’t heard a word he had said because i got lost starring at him and thinking “he has know idea how “good” he is…”
The highlight of this year I would definitely say is when we bought our first home together this past October.. Let me re-phrase, we bought our DREAM home :)
I have always been kind of scared with our life though, it’s like we got dealt to good of a hand and why did we deserve it?
Maybe it’s because I work with women who have so little and have been tormented so much? I’m really not sure why we have been so blessed with this life but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
This year on our 4th Anniversary I came home to flowers, champagne (with the strongest most furthest flying cork ever, it flew over the trees, over the fence and landed in our neighbors yard!) Oh yeah, and direct orders to get ready for a surprise date nigh! I was not getting ANY hints either so I gave up and rolled with it!
We went to Ray’s on the River which was an adorable and fancy seafood restaurant on the Chattahoochee river near the perimeter!
My first thought was “Lou what the hell were you thinking why did you bring us here we can’t afford this”!?!?!
He looked at me scared to death thinking i was literally upset with him and said “Jen, its our anniversary, just do it, it’s a treat!”
Ok you don’t have to twist my arm- more wine please!
One of the many reasons I love Lou, who does this?
We sat down and opened up the menu where Alex started scanning it for the best steak, one was called the hanger steak which we had never heard of and what does he do, googles where in the cow the hanger Ssteak comes from?
Seemed to risky but at least now we know what a hanger Steak is right?!?!
This one was the real winner!
My Crab cakes with mashed potatoes and goat cheese were to DIE for good! Their food was AMAZING and the view and weather were fabulous!
After dinner we took a walk along the river and the weather could not have been more perfect!
Good pick Lou, I couldn’t have asked for a better date night spot! We made our way back home and I was thinking of how lucky we are to have gotten so many sweet cards, calls of congrats and text messages so I guess this was Tucker and Mill’s way of saying they love us.. decorating the house with trash! Oh how I love them anyway!
We got home to reserve our vacation for this years anniversary trip and it looks like we will be going to St. Thomas! We went two years ago on our anniversary but it was on a cruise and we only had a day to play tourist so we have been dying to go back!
Here’s the last 3 years in anniversaries!
Our one year anniversary in Hilton head at Marleys and yes we ate the frozen wedding cake (which was actually super good)!
Our two year anniversary was the night before my graduation and the week before we celebrated with a cruise to the Virgin Islands!
We were in Charleston for our third year anniversary!
Here we are now, in the backyard of our very own first home celebrating our 4th anniversary!
Wow, does time fly! We can’t wait to see what next years anniversary brings us!
We are hoping a babysitter ;)
