Everyone knows i love an excuse for a party but Lou and I have decided to stop getting older! I think we will be 27 and 28 forever…. anything else just terrifies me to think about!
Anyway, on with what the birthday boys weekend of festivities looked like as a 28 year old!
Yes, you are seeing right…. if he could help it these would be the only two pictures from his birthday weekend documented because watching his military movies, building things with his electronics and working on the house is all he would have done!
But Tucker and Milly know their mom would never put up with that!
We had big party plans and the celebrations started on Friday!
Lou was very excited about his weekend but was not quite sure if he got a “get out of jail free card” starting on Friday so [apparently] he decided to beat me home from work that afternoon to “hide” his lunch box that he had forgotten to bring with him to work earlier that morning after I spent time packing it for him….
He thought he was doing good until I started baking his cake Friday night and found a very heavy, stinky lunchbox thrown in with the mixing bowls! Why he thought that it was a better idea to his it instead of throwing it all away and putting the lunchbox in it’s proper spot i will never know… he may be the smartest man i have ever met but when he panics his rationalization is that of an 11 year old!
I have to admit I was crying I was laughing so hard and he was soooo lucky it was his birthday weekend!
Sorry… back to his festivities!
Saturday night we gathered our crew up for dinner and drinks in Buckhead followed by some bar- hopping!
Lou’s favorite type of present – any tool ever made!
So as you can see I did not take near as many pictures as I would have liked and am super bummed about that but we had two more days of celebrating!
Side note: Lou decided he did not want his cake brought to the restaurant the night prior -“mr. keep the attention off me” so I brought that bad boy out the next morning to show Lou!
Later that day we went over to Andy and Rachel’s to have a get together and watch the Falcons (lose).
I love any excuse to dress in theme and sense I was never a “Georgia bulldog” it was fun to see how much red and black I had to pull out!
Liz, Lia and I literally inhaled hot dogs outside the bars the night before at one of those scary hot dog stands and it was the best thing ever!! The next day Alex could not stop talking about how badly he wanted a loaded hot dog!
The boys actually watched the game and us girls were either in the kitchen or surrounding the fire pit listening to Lia and Nicks fun, oh so them, engagement story!!
(Congrats again Lia and nick!) This is how I resolved to fan the smoke away from me when it migrated towards me!
I was so proud of my cell phone at this point!
I mean isn’t that the best fire picture ever!
The game ended and us ladies were informed the Falcons lost… more importantly Liz and I were informed it was an “important” game… oops.
We had more important things to tend to anyway… kisses my most favorite “small” dog ever, Franksters and beer pong!
The next morning was birthday overload! Lou was woken up by decorations, presents, cake and a day full of “you choose everything” which is pretty much his worst nightmare.. but he weaseled his way out of most things by saying “well if it’s whatever i want than you pick because that is what i want”.
Smarty pants!
Good morning sweet birthday boy, this is what 28 looks like!
I think our entire house is co-dependent of Mildreds feelings…. (even earlier tonight, i was taking my shoes off and accidently kicker her mouth and instantly started kissing and apologizing to her- here comes Tucker running to save her from the other room and attacked her with kisses)!
Milly said she needs shades to check her daddy out- he is just getting so old!!
Tucker wasn’t as energetic as he usually is for birthdays which was sad bu I think he was just “tuckered out” from all the celebrating by the time it got to his official day!
It’s okay Tuck, we love you old man and as always mom will bring the party to you- literally!
Lou’s first choice was to go to Steak and Shake for lunch!! do you know this kid did not even order a milkshake… lame!
That’s okay though, it was still AMAZING!
After that we dropped my car off to get serviced and they gave us a NEW Buick Enclave to use until our car was ready so naturally i pretended that was all in the plan and added “me chauffeuring you around in a gorgeous, loaded new car” as one of his presents!
Then we headed to Lowes to pick up Lou’s birthday present from mom and dad…supplies for Lou to make us a fire pit! Let the building begin… Tucker and Milly watched every move!
Poor Lou, i had him re-do it 3 times until we got the pattern and spot just to our liking!
That night we were off to one of our old favorites Carrabas! for every “special occasion” when we lived in statesboro Alex and I would drive to Savannah to eat at Carrabbas.. it’s always been one of our fav’s! Mmmmmm and this was just one of our 3 appetizers!
We were so stuffed but we came home and put our party hats on one last time… we just had to do candles and cake!!
Happy birthday Lou, I love you and am excited to spend a lifetime of birthdays with you!
