Full of what? The last few days have been FILLED with happiness, fun….sickness, biter sweetness, accomplishments and REALLY good news!!
Friday was amazing for FOUR reasons…
- Rachels 26th birthday, although she swears its her 24th…. and I SWEAR its only because she wants to be JUST LIKE ME :)
- Lance’s 26th Birthday
- Amara getting a PROMOTION and raise
- Lastly, Alex and I were celebrating our last “1 month celebration” until our real 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY… can you believe its already been 11 months!! (Yes, That is the Bitter Sweetness part)
So Friday was a very exciting day but parts of it were also TERRIFYING… I didn’t want to “blog it” until it was official but…. Friday I had an interview at Laurel Heights Hospital which is a residential treatment facility for ALLLLLL types of behavioral, personality and mental disorders for children ages 4-21. The interview was really tough and at the end i had to chose one specific population to work with, I chose adolescent girls with post traumatic stress disorder, mental health problems (mostly schizophrenia) and other behavior problems that make up a total of 16 girls.
NEEDLESS to say Monday they called and I GOT IT!!! So my second year internship will be at Laurel Heights Hospital, here’s their website if ya want to look them up more, I’m so excited!!

So the rest of the day Friday I made a cake for the birthday boy an girl (A Chocolate Oreo cake) and then we all had dinner together at Uncle Julio’s and filled up on margaritas!!
The Birthday Girl and all the yummy desserts!!
There’s the Birthday Boy!!Saturday we got a lot done around the house that I had been waiting to do…. One was staining a (horribly ugly) end table that we have had for forever…. I wanted to stain it to a very dark almost black stain to match our entertainment stand.
Told ya it was ugly….AND yes, this is why Alex is always concerned when i get any type of “remodeling” idea in my headBecause he ends up doing most of the hard parts…. but who knew ya had to sand it!?!?!
In the end…. it worked!!! And it turned out very pretty!
Then it was time for task 2… Tuckers hair cut!
He really was such a good, patient boy this time…. and…. Tucker decided to be a LION this summer so we kept his tail and neck big and fluffly! Then it was time for ROUND 2 of birthday celebrations which started at Andy and Rachel’s and ended at Rira’s well actually waffle house but I would rather not remember that part of the night which doesn’t really count anyway….. since it CAME UP LATER… yes. eww. sorry.
What a weekend…. and a rough few nights…. we won’t go there but definetly need to take it a bit “easier” this weekend… which Alex and I will be celebrating my new internship by having a FONDUE dinner date Friday night!! Can't wait!!
Until then it will be nothing but papers, papers, papers which is so hard when all i feel like is cuddling my sweet baby girl!!
Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!!
