Can you believe it… Lola and I are now living in a house with a 30 year old! Just kidding Daddy Lou! We loved celebrating your birthday this year more than ever…. being a party of 3 is truly the best!
Lola and I had big plans to spoil daddy for all his spoiling he does for us all year long and it started the day before his big day with a balloon, banners, streamer run!
You know the essentials!
Lola decided balloons are pretty much the coolest thing ever! She was so excited to go with me to get them and getting to hold it was just the absolute coolest!
Daddy did get to see his balloon the night before his big day because Lola was just SO excited to give it to him but the rest of the birthday fairy responsibilities had to be done after those two went to bed!
Too bad our construction zone is still in full effect!
We have a tradition of opening one present before going to work in this house, that is if your the type to go to work on your birthday…. LOU!!!
I will sayhe only worked half a day though!! He panicks at the idea of Lola and I driving to his work area for lunch dates so he met us at our fav… CAFE 33 of course!
Lola was so happy to see daddy for lunch, she even shared pasta salad with him- doesn’t she look proud!?
Oh how birthdays have changed… Lou wanted us to take him to the square- to take Lola and I in some shops and then to dinner.. Lola and I had no problem with this!
She even picked out new big girl walking shoes!
Daddy even took Lola on her first slide ride!! She didn’t really “get it” at first but we started saying “1,2,3” every time before going down and by about the third one she loved it and wanted more!
Dinner date time at Taqueria Tsunami!
With the best third wheel ever!! Who can be OH SO EXHAUSTING!!! Never the less we gave daddy the best first daddy birthday ever! Who knew 15 years ago Lou would be celebrating his 30th birthday as his first birthday with his very own baby girl!
That Friday mom and dad came up early for Alex’s birthday party to get some extra time in with Lola and to give us a date night of our own!
Eatting with both hands, not sharing our food, finishing a conversation without picking a million things up off the floor! WOW… we have been out of the loop!
Oh yes and adult conversations- mostly about the girl- going to Italy… with us…. OMG what were we thinking!!??!!???!!
No really! Lou got the best birthday present ever, we finally booked a trip together to Europe and we couldn’t be more excited- and scared lol!!
Oh yes, crazy or not, we are taking the girl!!!
The next day was moms REAL birthday and Alexs birthday party- we are ass backwards in this house i know! So we did presents again and then mom and I headed off to shop and pick up Lou’s cake while we left Lou to…. work.
Bless him! Lola even picked out a special birthday present for her Gigi, a praline! Smart girl knows the way to Gigi’s heart! Then it was time to celebrate big! I had planned a birthday party for Lou at Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza and Grill since our new favorite thing is wood fire pizza! We were so fortunate that almost all of Alex’s family was there and many of our sweet, closest friends!
Of course Lola would smile AND look in the one thats blurry!
I know this picture isn’t the greatest but it was perfect timing…. they had just brought his cake out and just as he was “making a wish” to blow them out I was whispering to him “she’s already here”!
I honestly wouldn’t trade where we’re at right now for anything! We honestly have yet to let a day go by where we don’t pinch ourselves for this life we have been given and this beautiful baby girl we get to raise!
I may have the majority of the year to catch up with you Lou but I think it’s safe to say that if 30 means raising her, meeting her siblings and loving on each other day in and day out, I think we will stay here for as long as possible!
Happy Birthday daddy Lou, we love you!!
