We have been some traveling gypsies lately but it was all for very good reasons! To start was Alex’s 10 year high school reunion …. can you believe it!?!?!?
I knew back then to play my cards right and although the chances were rare to end up with your high school…. ok middle school sweetheart it was at least possible! Well I claim luck to this day and to think now not only do i get to reap the benefits of having him as a husband but we have a baby girl on the way who gets to call him her daddy!
Oh Lola, just wait until you meet him!
These two were not only twins but a mess the whole night… we decided they had to “re-make” their yearbook class picture where they sat front and center holding each others hands IN EVERY PICTURE to make sure it got published.
Ya gotta love them, especially when they get together!
I have noticed there are things to take advantage of when going to events sober…. you can leave whenever you want and drive somewhere else! A whole new world of possibilities! ha
So we headed to Hilton Head for what we assumed to be our last beach trip for the summer and our last beach trip without a little one in tow… how weird is that to think of!?!
It was also an added bonus to see Alex’s family, check on his dad and enjoy some sun with Alex’s cousin and sweet girlfriend who had just gotten to town; Tyler and Gabby!
Two weekends later we were back and the wedding festivities for Stephanie had begun! Our adorable dresses came in and we all got to try them on with our fashionable giggle maker Kailey….
Are these not the cutest dresses ever!!
My favorite ladies minus Tara who refused to get in the picture…. lame.
Stephanie and Joe’s couples shower!!
Next weekend we will all be in Nashville together!
Presents time!!
The next weekend Lola and I kissed Lou goodbye and headed out to our first girls trip (but not before getting several lectures on how to be safe, protect Lola aka the belly, wear our seatbelts, never to go anywhere alone and to avoid all smoking areas.. oh yeah and to have fun!) Boy was she in for a surprise with these girls! We hit the road and headed to Nashville… well more immediately we headed to a ton of pit stops and 90% of them weren’t even my fault!
30 minutes from home and we were hungry…
It went something like this…. food stop, pee stop, IBS ppl stop, candy/snack stop, pee stop, gas stop etc….
Let the party begin! Renee was the best host, she had both rooms decorated, gift bags inclusive of munchie foods and a full bar!
Renee was even sweet enough to personalize each bag… mine came with sparkling cider instead of mini liquor bottles! Lola says thank you! Our first night out Renee had matching shirts made for us to wear out! They were so cute!
The strip, all lit up!
The next “morning” we made our way to Whiskey Kitchen which was so cute and had the best food! For some reason we were just about ALL craving grilled cheese!
Time to burn off some calories by..… shopping!Nashville is so cute, it’s one of those places where their is constantly something going on, Friday night it was a barbeque festival on the river and Saturday their was a huge car show..
Saturday night was our BIG night out and up first was her lingerie party….. you welcome Joe!
A few skanky things (thank you Renee, who else) and a few sweet things! Oh yes and some practical things…. ok so i gave her a pregnancy test to bring with her on the honeymoon…. ya never know!
Our beautiful bride had to make sure she was totally wasted to complete this list of “to-do’s”!
We had dinner on the rooftop and then we were off to hot the strip and complete Stephanie’s list of to-do’s!
our first stop was Honky Tonk and we fell in love with the band… the boy was only about 18 or 19 but we fell more in love when the band took a break and had a guest performer… this little girl!
This guy was hillarious and so helpful and willing to help check things off Stephanie's list! Don’t worry Joe, he was there with his TWO boyfriends….
We found another bachelorette!
Officially a successful, memorable and amazing Bachelorette party to remember!
I think I will sum up Saturday night by a glimpse of what our Sunday commute looked like as we headed back home…..
Poor Stephanie! LOL
The moments continued the day after I got back from Nashville, literally! I started my first day at my new job!
Yup, I did it, I left my very first job in the field!
After three years of up’s and downs, tears and laughter, heartache and inspiring moments I finally with Lola in tow made a career change in hopes of a less stressful environment… I sure do miss working with those mama’s though! I can only hope that as my career in the field continues, wherever that continues to bring me, that i am able to give back to half of the families out there what those omen gave to me. I honestly don’t think there is a tougher more emotionally draining job to have yet there is also no more of a rewarding job to have. What an inspiration they were to me. When they say you just can’t learn some things from a book it’s true. I truly believe that love, gratitude and what is most important in life is best taught to you by those who have absolutely nothing yet still get up and try their best for one more day. I am so lucky to have met and learned from each and everyone of them!
I am still working for Cobb County but at Big Shanty Elementary School as a Child and Adolescent Therapist… I am loving it so far and working closely with the school counselor but working with the kids who need more intense on going theraputic interventions.
Saying good bye to my little corner office!
My last oh so special BIG milestone to remember is………….
Lou and I’s 14 year anniversary!!
No Moscato champagne at this years celebration but we did have a little reminiscent moment to take it back where our first date took us…. the movie theatre!
We threw on our sweat pants and called it a date!
The real celebration is what’s going on inside my yummy right now obviously and we just could not be more excited about it all! I promise to get back to this when I get the pictures from Lindsey but until then I have some registering to do for our first baby shower which is coming up VERY quickly… AGHHHH!
