Well I made it through the week without my better half and welcomed the company of my parents for a few days until they headed to Mississippi to see my mom’s family and then I welcomed my brother for the remainder of the week!
It was the best early Christmas present I could have ever asked for and we had a ton of fun getting ready for Christmas….. baking, shopping, wrapping and decorating the new house!
My other favorite early Christmas present was getting Lou to take our Christmas card pictures before he left!
It started raining just before he left so we took a few inside but I liked the outside one better so I ended up photo shopping Mildred’s head the right direction and we were all set!
Sometimes she can be a bit difficult but we love her…
It was quite a busy morning before Lou left and I was quite the mess… I have never dropped him off at the international airport before so the busy morning seemed to be a good distraction until all of a sudden I got him to the drop off and realized I couldn’t park I had to immediately tell him bye… of wow, I had not prepared for that!
But I did it…. and I felt like a million pounds was lifted off my shoulders that night when he very sleepily emailed me and said he made it! here are some pictures he sent me while he was there!
So on with my week, Mom and Dad were such good entertainment for me… Mom helped me pick out tons of new Christmas decorations for the house so it no longer looked halfway decorated (which was literally driving me crazy) and we baked all of our favorite Christmas goodies!
Tucker knows it’s going to be a while when his mom and grama get in the kitchen!
…. and Milly knows how to take advantage of situations! Top picture; notice Milly in the bottom left… Mom refuses to ever discipline Milly…. and we wonder why Milly is so fond of her!!
Pralines, fingers & cheese straws complete!
So after Mom and Dad left I had literally tried to prepare myself for the first time EVER to stay alone, by myself, in a house, overnight… yes, any house-ever!
Just as I walked in the front door I got a text from Billy saying he just finished packing and was on his way to come stay with me from Statesboro!!
WHEW was I happy to read that… and Alex was thrilled to hear it!
People ask us all the time which one of us is more paranoid, I always tell them we both are just as bad as the other only he does something about it and I would probably just shiver in fear of my own thoughts… so this is what I woke up to the morning of his departure:
He had installed it for me while I was sleeping the night before he left in case I had to stay by myself, so that I could easily monitor all the cameras while watching something else on the regular TV in the bedroom…. the really scary part is my ability to sleep right through it being drilled into the wall RIGHT NEXT to our bed!
YIKES!
The least I could do was take him to his favorite restaurant right!?!
Billy and I had so much fun crossing items off our Christmas shopping list, eating way too much food, watching our favorite Christmas movies and baking (but more importantly decorating) vegan gingerbread cookies!! What a good sport!
I think a good few hours passed before it was all said and done…. I was a bit proud of them, can ya tell!?!?!
Friday finally came so I raced to the airport to pick him up!! I had a feeling as soon as he got home he would crash and I was right!! Tucker and Milly didn’t mind & neither did I… we were just glad he was home!!
Milly was super clingy of him the next few days!!
Poor Lou he slept a good bit after getting home so back to the kitchen I went while Milly kept him company in bed!
The variety bags I made for my work peeps!
After a full day or resting and recovering it was time to get on with life….by partying in the spirit of two dearly loved ones birthdays!!
My little newlywed love muffin JJ was turning 25 and came to Atlanta to celebrate at The Atlanta Fish Company with all my favorite Newnan peeps!!
Conveniently we ended one party just as Jeff’s birthday party was kicking off about 5 minutes away!!
Happy Birthday Jeff and JJ, we were so glad Alex was able to make it home just in time to celebrate these two special birthdays!!!
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!! We are shooting for Christmas round 3 tomorrow!
