I told you this would be an exciting post, right………….
Yes, the mud was MY idea….
We made a very last minute trip to Statesboro last Saturday for a cook out on Mike’s birthday.
After this past week it proved to be nothing less than therapeutic for us and we loved every minute of it!
The babies loved our trip too, naturally, but Tucker was not so sure about those horses around his mama!!
Poor Uncle Andy, just trying to eat with 18 dogs in one room (as always look who is closest. That’s my girl.)
Until my big boy moves in even closer… SORRY!
Lou played with all of his many toys…..
Is he not the cutest lil’ thing! …. and so is this big guy. Tucker watched his daddy play on all the toys and his mama play with the those big horses!! Milly was caught rolling in poop and I yelled at asked her to get her butt up and come here now. On her way to come over to me she got shocked by the electric fence, tried it again and got shocked again, poor baby, am i not the worlds worst mother?
Now she must think that is was her punishment…
Sorry Mills, I swear your mom really does love you.
Then it was time for more “therapy”, we had a lot of anger to take out and we did. This was Lou’s first shot….. Pretty close….. Can you see the bullet hole?
This is a good way to learn how much your husband trust you….
The man doesn’t trust me one bit with it, what a worry wart!
After taking our anger out with ammunition Rachel and I decided to go for a (what we thought would be a) nice ride.
With “gimp” rocket having to ride and constantly jumping out to run, Milly getting too tired half way down the trail and having to sit ON my lap the rest of the way and Tucker teaching the others how to cool off in the mud…..
it ended up being bath time!! Milly didn’t actually get dirty (since she rode most of the way) but she still got hot and wanted to cool off!
She actually stayed in the trough for about 30 minutes all by her self and it may have been longer but when she attempted to lay down and all the water came rushing out it embarrassed her and she was done!!
haha poor baby, she’s lost weight but still has a ways to go!
Then it was time to get cleaned up and enjoy therapeutic activity number 98456792 with good company at Mill house.
Lou even said Stephanie and I look like twins this time….
We ended the night with a ride down Hill St. (Stephanie, I have never ridden THAT fast down it) and then to Renee and Josh’s house to make yummy grilled cheese sandwiches (only after Lou said the best salesman in the world sold him not one but two loaves of bread at the gas station, and ya’ll wonder why we love for Lou to drink, he keeps us entertained)!
Sunday was down and dirty for real.It was mostly play, but you know Mill just had to get her car “did up” first…
Ok but for real it started storming Sunday so Milly freaked out to find shelter and sat in the car hyperventilating the whole afternoon…..
I, on the other hand, was anxiously awaiting the storm to relive an amazing night Lou and I had one October night in high school…….. ( I will try and find those pictures)
I jumped in as soon as the rain picked up and when Lou attempted to dodge the first mud puddle i grabbed the steering wheel straight into it while yelling at the top of my lungs!!
Nine years ago we were, of course, rushed to get out of school and racing to meet up at Lou’s house to see just how much time we could get in with each other before my curfew creped up on us.
It had stormed that entire day so we decided to put on raincoats and boots and see just how many puddles we could find on the four wheeler.
It was amazing and just as much fun for us to do all over again 9 years later….
Funny what a little mud and old memories can do to a heart…
I couldn’t resist these two pictures….. :)
They all took a little convincing but eventually couldn’t resist…
Alex was everyone’s chauffer through the mud…
I just love that picture of Amber, mud and true happiness!!
Oscar and Miss Laura came to visit us too but opted out of the mud party (Ike got a little muddy from Lou’s cuddles but no worries, we dipped him in the pool before he went home).
Then it was bath time!!!!
Yes, that is Mill and Tuck’s left over bathwater….. Poor Julian, She officially knows now just what a crazy family she was born into…..
Amber and Julian had enough of the dirty mud and decided to clean up the wagon, what a good helper she was!
The therapy worked and we feel much better now!
