Ok so I am for real going to start taking some time out for this “little old thang” lol BUT in the mean time and in efforts to catch up I’m going to do a “Top Ten Favorites” blog along with just a couple BIG ones and then we should see the light at the end of the tunnel!
So here we go:
ONE:
Up first is a WAY late flash back to Lola in Dance! I know I mentioned us signing her up for Christmas but never actually blogged much about her doing it! It was a Mommy and Me class and she absolutely loved it- minus the structured portion lol My girl just likes to run wild when she dances!
Her little season ended a week after I had Lox and with al that went on she didn’t make the last class but she loved her time dancing and I just loved seeing her in the outfits! lol
She also finished her gymnastics class around the same time. I’m not sure if she was sensing the pregnancy coming to an end or what but it was getting SO HARD to get her to participate (away from me) in her last few gymnastics classes.
She sure did look cute showing up though lol
TWO:
Play Dates! Lord knows there have been MANY of these but here are just a few of my favorites with Lola and her favorites!
THREE:
We had two last minute lake trips before brother arrived! Daddy was in China for one of them so we brought our side kicks, Jadyn and Aunt Kayla – who was also pregnant at the time for one last hoorah with just us girls! Oh and I was a whopping 9 months- and between the two of us, someone was always taking a potty break!
This girl. That week after we returned he headed back to China for one last trip just TWO weeks before brother was scheduled to arrive! Oh yeah and I had (false labor) contractions the evening before he left that sent us to the doctor- so that was fun!
Thankful for Gee and another round of the lake with my girls!
Oh how I miss that pacie face already!
Oh that bikini belly- how I loved it (minus the back aches, being out of breath and peeing every 5 minutes) lol!
FOUR:
Lox’s First outing! Thankfully I did actually blog about him being born and the whirlwind of that so this was literally two days after he came home- his first outing at one week old!
Lola had been through SO much and Gigi was our lifesaver hanging with her through it all! So I wanted to do something really fun and “normal” for her when Gigi left!
FIVE:
Our 8th Anniversary and Mothers Day weekend! It was super busy and just three weeks after bringing Lox home so we were still in a bit of a whirlwind but boy did Lou have something up his sleeve…
he surprised me with a Bi-plane ride, which I could have killed him for! We were finally all safe and sound and home and he takes me to do this! It was absolutely beautiful once we were up but I’m pretty sue I left claw marks in his arm from squeezing him so hard- the ENTIRE time! We finished with a fancy dinner and a large adult beverage for mama!
That weekend for Mothers Day we had a pool day with my mom and Lola and Lox and a cookout with Alex’s mom and siblings!
Lola absolutely loves baby Ollie, it was 4 months later and the first day I told her we were going to give Lox his first bite of baby food she screamed “Like I got to do with baby Ollie!”
SIX:
Lox’s First Lake Trip!
At 5 weeks old we loaded you up (full of gas) and brought you to Poppy’s Lake House for your first trip! You loved it- especially the boat ride! You are such an outside little man! Sister had a blast as always and thanks to Gigi who snuggled you most of the time, we got to have some alone time with our big girl!
It was good for all of our souls!
SEVEN:
Just as Lox tuned two months old Lou found out he would have to go back to china- It- was- awful! As helpful as he is we were already going through it with his work, naturally it peaked just before I had Lox and several months after until almost the end of the summer. He was getting up at 3, 4, 5 am to drive in to work (a week or two he was actually at the office at 3am! He would come home and then have to get back online to work at 8pm with the Chinese until around midnight.
Geez, just looking back it sounds impossible we survived it all. Isn’t that always the case.. in the moment you know it’s crazy but you don’t see how crazy the big picture is until later.
It. Was. Crazy.
The good news is we literally closed on our house the day before he left! It was a fixer upper so there was lots of work to be done but there was hope- after 6 months of searching and our apartment quickly shrinking there was a light at the end of the tunnel!
Thank. You. Jesus.
More of the home reno to come!
So I was on my own to care for not one but two little rascals- one who was VERY busy and one who decided to have his reflux peak the DAY AFTER his daddy left! I did my best keeping them busy, entertained- and fed! lol Oh and trying my damndest to not have a mental breakdown… you know, no big deal :] The one thing that kept me from collapsing at 7am in the morning when after being up all night was capturing shots like this, I swear they are the sweetest sights every, single morning.
If it weren’t for Chick-fil-a and cereal we probably would have starved.
Thank God Alex’s mom was able to come over and help me at night with the chaos of bedtime, bath time, diner time times two for the week. It gave Sister and I some alone time to sneak away to either the park or pool while brother took his evening nap with grama which was a sanity savior!
I took Lox and Sissy to the zoo for his first very (sleepy) trip, lol minus it being hot he probably would have never woken up! Lola loved her BFF time!
Even though we found out about Lou leaving last minute, we had soaked up a lot of outings with him before he took off and we were getting the hang of the two kid thing!
Daddy is home from China and Sissy got a gorgeous dress!
Moving in to our fixer upper! Oh yes, we finally got a house! A flat ranch, with a flat yard and ONE tree!
Halalujah!
Can you tell we were OVER the steps at our old house! Nothing like one extreme to another!
Ok so even thinking back about what to say, all I can think is, that was another hot mess. Lox literally decided he HATED the car for about 3-4 weeks and it was coincidently while we were renovating and running back and forth to meet painters, floor people, Alex working on the house every night etc! So I was constantly driving back and forth. If I wanted an hour of sanity, I would have to lose my sanity by driving back to Kennesaw to put her down at the apartment.
Did I mention 9 times out of 10 I would drive her back and she refused to nap anyway… shoot. me.
I will say, just having the yard was a life saver! Oh how we love/loved the yard!
Day 1, Alex left the closing and we took the wall down between the den and kitchen, in all of an hour.
It had to go. lol
Bless that Daddy Lou, if he isn’t holding a sledge hammer he is holding a baby. Oh how we love him for it.
Here are the demo pics, I hope to do a true blue before and after picture post soon!
A girl, a hose and a yard! So thankful we got her in before Summer ended!
In all the craziness I think I still tell Alex at the end of every night when we finally sit down… DAMN we make some pretty babies!
Nine:
We had one last Lake trip of the Summer for Poppy’s birthday just after Alex got home from China!
Would you believe it, our Poppy is 70 and if you want someone to go overboard decorating for your birthday party- Lola is your girl! poppy had cupcakes on tp of cakes with sprinkles, streamers, banners and a fence to hide it all from him seeing!
We almost made it- here we go! Lastly, we have ANOTHER new member of the family!
Ella!
I had promised Lola since we moved tot he partment that when we got a house we would get her a kitty cat. She had been so patient and although she was just getting over a big when we picked Ella to be ours we were SO in love with her.
It breaks my heart just looking back at these pictures of her in that cage.
Ella Ella as mommy likes to call her is quite a story!
The humane society was having a “Cat Palooza” for several months over the summer basically giving cats away for a 10$ adoption fee who are already spayed, micro-chipped, wormed and have their Rabies shot.
However, if they are not spayed, wormed, micro-chipped thier rabies shot they are 150.
Seems backwards right?
Do you think Ella had any of the above.
Hell. No.
We loved her anyway so Ella it was… then we find out (after falling in love) she was behind on her milestones because she had been so sick and even though she looked a few weeks old she was 5 months old just severely mal-nourished. They said she had been there for a month but if we had come any sooner she would not have been up for adoption because they didn’t know if she would make it.
So they ran all of her test and we got the OKAY to adopt her! So 150$ and then they mention because she is so under developed they aren’t sure if we can even bring her back to them on her spay date due to her needing special care… we likely need to have her spayed at a vets office instead.
Great.
Oh and by the way, she is on a special diet, she has to eat soft chicken they tell me.
Oh and by the way, she has fleas.
THANK. YOU.
Nothing could have stopped us at that point anyway (obviously). We loved our Ella and Lola was in Heaven, she had her own baby she old me. She was a walking shit show with special needs out the Ass just like the rest of us (literally she shit in our shower the entire first week)!
Thankfully she is doing much better now and fits right in!
So there’s a glimpse of our top TEN lately!
So much more to catch up on but it’s start!
