What a snow storm we went through earlier this week! We were stuck inside for 3 days but I say that very THANKFULLY since the alternative was being snowed “out” and apart from each other!
The morning started out fairly normal and I got ready to go into my school for a quick hour to send a student home with some information at 11:30 when it had just started to show tiny little snow flakes.. Tiny yet steady!
Those were taken before I left for work, I went in and rushed to leave work an hour later after realizing how bad it was… I like many others was stuck in gridlock after gridlock and managed to make it home after almost 2 hours… I live 15 minutes away from the school!
Never the less, i came home to this!
It was absolutely beautiful but so hard to enjoy knowing Alex was still trying to get home after leaving work at 12:30. Originally he told me to wait at my school and he would come get me… once I saw how bad the traffic was the idea of sitting and waiting just made me panic more so I braved the roads and thankfully did NOT wait on Alex! I made it home around 2:15 and was soooo happy mom was home so i wouldn’t be alone in case Lola decided to come while her daddy was stuck out there!
Around 3pm Alex told us he was not making any progress and he had decided to sit in a parking lot and see if it got any better…
Around 5pm we decided that it was only getting worse and unless he wanted to spend the night in his car he had to at least try to get home! After waiting and waiting night was falling and mom and I’s stress level was going up and up! After what ended up being an 8 and a half commute ride home for Alex, I was the happiest girl in the world to see him walk through the door!
We were thrilled obviously!
The funniest part which was quite relieving for me was his humor through out the whole thing… I think he had a blast. Really.
I have a feeling his little video camera had something to do with this and what do ya know- He came home with hours of footage so eager to show me!
Each one was as weird as the next, i know refer to his video camera as his “little friend” they love getting into trouble together- sooo creepy!
We were literally glued to the news all night and all day the following day.. it was devastating to hear of what horror all these people went through worried about their family members, separated from their children and trying to get home!
I could not be more thankful for Lou to be home but i was still worried to do much in fear that i would go into labor and not be able to get to the hospital… yeah scary!
So the next day we got out for just a bit to take a look at all the prettier side of this snow storm… the beautiful white snow!
I loved this view! It’s our first “real” snow in this house!
This was the view looking down our road!
This was me begging Lola to enjoy her first snow storm from the “inside”!
Our little beaver friend has worked on this tree for over a month! We noticed a week ago that it finally fell but another tree caught it’s fall… I bet he was happy to find out the storm finally pushed it all the way down… now what will he do with it?
Time for the pups to play in it and oh boy were they fiesty!
Milly must have smelled the cookies mom was cooking from inside because she had no problem holding her little beggar stance!
We enjoyed being home together the rest of the week enjoying our snow days and this view!
Milly and Tucker were pretty excited to get some extra time in “alone” with us before Lola gets here!
Oh yes…. in case you didn’t notice… Today is my due date… Feb 2… AHHH!!
However, Lola isn’t here. It’s time to get creative because she is obviously on “lola time”! I will try to post about her nursery tonight too but I plan on using most of my strength to WALK her out!!
No time for super bowl watching in this house!
