As Always I was soooooo sooooo soooo happy to be heading home last weekend! This time was even better though because it was a long weekend, I think every weekend should be a long weekend but that’s another story! Is tomorrow really Monday?
, Anyway, after getting home Mom and I had one thing on the agenda before Alex and I were off to Hilton Head for a party in honor of Jane’s dad and a MUCH needed mini vacay away…..
We had to get our nails done of course!
Renee met us at the salon and informed me I was addicted, ghetto and a teeny bopper… I’m okay with that.
Love you too boo :)
On the way over to Hilton Head it started to rain and in between showers I saw the prettiest rainbow stretching from one end of the sky to the other!
So I just had to I text Jane this picture (below)…
In ohio at her dads funeral she informed me that at every family get together since her mother passed there’s a little rain, which she believes to be her moms way of letting everyone know she is “there”.
On to the party….
Oh yes and a big “Yay” for Rachel and I actually being in Hilton Head at the same time, I feel like that occasion is more rare than it should be!?!?
Rachel showing me her fabulous display of food she helped set up! Jane’s friends Sandra and Sue were SOOO kind to cater the party themselves, not only was it tasty but it was beautifully displayed! Many of us discussed how it was just too pretty to eat!
Hey Now, don’t show too much emotion there boys!
Back to the food, of the food!
Enough of the pictures right? Time to eat these beautiful creations! I loved seeing Ms. Mary Ann’s and meeting her Sea Pines crew minus Duffy..
Time for A toast to the the kind, hard working, smooth and sweat talking man, Mr. Mike.
*Cheers* What a night! The next day we headed out for some shopping before heading to the beach and look what Andy and Alex spotted from the parking lot at the outlets….
Watch closely at the very beginning, you see [my crazy husband] Mr. gator swiming off into the water!
When we pulled up he was sun bathing in the grass but he quickly made his way into the water, he was about 4 foot long but instead of getting in the water to swim away he actually came closer… we aren’t sure if he was more “domesticated” and wanted food or more wild and wanted us to be his food?
We all survived and headed to the beach to find out the gator was not our only dose of wildlife for the day… the seagulls were out and about and dropped some “droppings'” onto Lou…. EW!
FYI: On our way down we found out Renee and Stephanie were coincidently going to be in Hilton Head for a girls beach trip with Stephanie’s mom so we just knew we had to squeeze some time in together!
AHHHHHHHHH the best of both worlds!
Corona in a water bottle… smart thinking!
I was sooooooooo excited for some beach time but that April Sun with cool wind blowing is always very deceiving…. Alex learned his lesson from last year and warned me the whooooole day but I couldn’t help it, I had to get some sun…
That night we all went out to one of our favorites, The Hurricane bar and the infamous Hilton Head triangle and guess what we soon noticed, we got burned!
(btw Mere and Andrew surprised us and came down Saturday too, oh my our whole crew in one place!)
We had a BLAST and even though it was short lived, we lived it :)
On the way home Sunday we stopped to meet Amber and the girls (who I haven’t seen in way too long!) Avery is walking!!
Oh how I missed these girlies! I told Alex my new goal is to make sure every time I see Amber with the girls that I take a picture of her with the girls all together! She is always the picture taker like me!
So we played photo shoot and gave kisses and cuddles to my sweet nieces!
Before leaving Hilton Head Alex and I had two more stops:
Our favorite Mexican restaurant on the island (i think we have one in every town we have ever visited come to think of it), La hacienda.. even if it was squeezed in for a breakfast meal!
The last pit Stop was to get fire works to test out Alex’s newest “invention”. Well truth be told, half of them didn’t make it home…. we stopped at Alex’s moms house and just had to test some out!
I do believe fireworks are addicting.
These were scary powerful! Rocket loves fireworks a little too much! We had to keep him away from every “blast off”!
While we were out there I realized I never posted the video of Alex and the bug zapper from the last time we were there!
By the time we left the sun from the previous day had caught up with me… OUCH!! Mrs. Karen has the biggest Aloe vera plants at her house so I stole about 12 branches to take home with me!! It felt soooo soothing!
Tucker and Milly got their dose of grama and grampa time while we were gone and as usual, they pretty much refused to come home with their mom and dad. Thanks monkeys.
Grampa takes tucker to do fun things like feeding the fish… oh and Milly joins them to do fun things like eating the fish food, so what’s new?
Mom and dad got a brand new pasta machine and could not wait to try it out while we were gone over the weekend. Better yet WE got to try out the finished product before going back home! Mmmmmm!
Lou is always in charge of the placement of the crescent rolls….
Don’t mind Milly she is just a rotating statue that goes from person to person at the dinner table….
She sure was sad when it was time to leave though… Im telling you I basically have to bribe my own dogs to go home with me!
We will be back soon Milly I promise! Tucker thank you for always being happy regardless of where you are….. as long as your with your mom. Right!?!?
